We are coming...

Every year around this timing, we will be busy planning abt our trip back to Sitiawan again. This year is a bit earlier, anyway the date are set by my mum, uncle and aunties to determine when they wanna hold grandma bday. Some may find it weird, how come it is not on her actual bday, well there are a few reasons to it. 1stly, my grandma doesnt know her actual birthdate. It was all by gut feel and she always knows her chinese bdate. Infact, we can always do some calculation to trace back but it doesnt really make sense cos no one can really come back during that time for celebration 2ndly, she has 10 kids and inorder to get as many grandchildren and kids to come back there is alot of coordination to do cos the kids are all over the place. Well, I mean Msia and Spore. We have to make sure there is holidays so those working are able to drive back, school holiday so the kids can come over. U see there are so many factors to consider and we usually just followed the flow. (so we wun get sco...

Ishu Maru

I was browsing the Sunday Times which was featuring on Japanese food outlets. Then this $4.90 caught my eyes. There was this Japanese style food court at POMO that selling Japanese food at a cheap price. I suggested to Law to visit the place since I was not cooking last night. He wasnt very keen thinking that Japanese food wun be that cheap no even at the food court. We made a few round in order to find POMO. That was actually Singapore Pool HQ. Ishu Maru was situated at level 3, it was not crowded when we reached there ard 8:30pm (It closed at 9:30pm). They served Japanese curry rice, Omu rice, Japanese pasta, pizza and Ramen. I ordered Omu rice for the kids to share and ordered a ham and mushroom pasta with white sauce. Law ordered a Curry rice and a Ramen. I told him that the Ramen tasted better than Ajisen noodle soup base. The curry was mild but the portion is just nice. My pasta was delicious and the Omu rice was good enough for the kids. We didnt spend too much and we head down ...

Better get ready...

I decided to visit Dr Keith again, just to make sure I am recovered before setting off for Sitiawan. He asked me abt my facial - yes I went thru a minor facial procedure with him on Monday. Infact, the result was very good. He was quite please with it as well, asking me to monitor further and to visit him again after I finished my cream. I told him there was still mucus inbetween my airway and my nose. He asked if I slept well again. I told him my body will switch on to alert mode if I didnt manage to sleep in time. He wanted me to rest well in order for the body to recover. So he prescribed Xana for me again, I told him I will take is sparsely. He gave me half a dosage of Zmax antibiotics to help me to recover and the other half to let my body fight again it. Dr Keith has the habit to make the patient takes their medicine before leaving his clinic. Guess he is caring and afraid that the patient will miss their medicine time? hahahaha... I was asking him if my sore throat is contiguous...

High Tea

It was a long due gathering. The last meetup with some of the East Mommies was in 2008 CNY. We went to Zhou Kitchen at Far East Square. I took half day leave, running some errand before meeting them. Ethel, Vivian, Jasmine and Maggie managed to take leave and some parked their kids with someone and came for the meet up. Unfortunately Carrie couldnt make it last min else would be perfect. We have great time chatting and eating. The food was nice, service was great, infact nothing much to complain. We were the 1st group to enter and the last to come out, after tat we all rushing back to fetch the kids home. Haizzzz... at least a few hours of relax to destress.

Movie: Taken

Law said he needed a good sleep cos he will be on weekends duty and suggesting to place the kids with his mum on Friday. I suggested we catch a show, the last show we watches was IP Man. He wanted to watch "Taken" but we were 20 min late when we reached FilmGarde, so we have to catch the 11:35 timing. It was a nice show. We liked Liam Neeson performance, a desperate father who made use of his life skill to save his daughter as well as his rueless way to get his way as near as to his daughter. It was only after the show then Law told me was also the one who played in the Starwar - yes the Jeda master.

A dinner treat at Thai Pan.

Image
Mary is giving us a treat at Thai Pan, located at the Changi Civil Service club. Just opposite the Changi Village hotel. She claimed that she has not giving us a treat after she started working. Very sweet of her but giving a treat for 8 adults are not going to be cheap. Thai Pan dishes are pretty good, some dishes are light, some could taste the MSG (my mum claimed that). The price are the normal Che Chay price. We were all dashing toward the dishes so no one took another pictures. we have - Thai Mango Salad - Herbal prawn - Pork rib - Broccoli with crab sauce - Hong Kong Kai Lan - Tom Yum soup - Daily brewed soup for the kids - seafood claypot beancurd - Sea coconut dessert - Apple and mango Sorbet for the kids The little one are really too noisy at a point that Xian has to step in to implement some punishment. She didnt scold the kids, just some sense talking but Julian break down from this gentle way of punishment. If me, I would have shouted across. Good that my sister step in...

Food for Tummy

Image
Weekends again. It is also the days I can distress thru cooking..... Mary informed us that she was going to give us a treat on Sat night so I reduced my cooking and just cooked something for lunch. I spotted the sweet intestine and decided to make the pork stewed for the family. The sweet intestine is wat call " Feng Chang". There is this powdery substance inside the intestine that make it taste really good. Of course some stewed eggs too, the kids love eggs. At 1st I thot of using slow cooker, so i dun have to monitor the fire but for the past experience, I realised the slow cooker will cook the meat to tender but it will not dried the sauce and give it a concentrated thick sauce. Therefore, I decided to use another cooking ware for a change. Oh yes, button mushroom cos the kids are big fan of mushroom. From the day the kids are feed with fish, they never really stop eating it. In the noon, i decided to try out this Malay finger food call Kueh Keria which is ...

Blur mummy

I just booked a concert tickets, thinking to bring the kids to watch. Give them some exposure in music but I forgotten I have something on that day. I thot I checked but I totally forgotten that Sunday was Kim's Wedding. I was invited to his Wedding lunch at M hotel, and only came to realise it the next day. No refund of tickets. Luckily, the Wedding Lunch venue is very close to the concert hall but I have to leave the lunch ard 4:30pm inorder to reach the concert hall in time. Since I only purchase 3 tickets, i will have to ask Law to send Julian to the concert hall that day. Most likely bringing Janelle to attend Kim's wedding. Haiyah... why am I so blur!

Long weekends

I applied Family care leave on thursday as MIL wasnt feeling well. Infact feeling worse, as her eye infection has triggered fever. Althot she was sick, she still offered to help to fetch the kids but I dun think that was advisable so I told her to rest at home and I will settled the kids. Still the kids were sent to childcare, I stayed at home to finish up my Boys Before Flowers (korean drama) and I seemed to get post syndrome after finishing it. Ji Pyo and Ji Hoon seemed to linger in my brain. I just cant seem to get rid of their handsome faces off my mind. The boys are 100x handsome than the Taiwan F4 version. I cooked "6 Flavour soup" for the kids and took down the 6 ingredients so i could gather them myself instead of running to medical hall for it. It usually cost more to get it from medical hall. Law took half day leave to send MIL for checkup. Luckily with him ard, else I dun know how am I going to bring the kids and their barang barang back from CC. (They will be brin...

Progress of the kids

My Jubilee - I think I shld stop comparing my son with others, probably I feel very much contented. Yes... I am very much happier this way. Julian speech has improved very very much. His pronounciation is getting better and we can make up what he really wants now, althot he still could not construct a probably sentense but we are helping and he is trying very hard too. His Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is getting clearer everyday. I listen intensive on every word he says. Very clear.... just that he missed a few words but never mind on that. He has progress on. I wanted to thank my cousin in law who has being giving me advises and stop me from going to speech therapist which Julian doesnt need. We save alot of time, $$ and unnecessary stress. Very thankful that she is willing to share her experience with us. My Jellio - She has cried less but she can still be very grouchy sometime. As I promised myself and to my ger . I will control my temper, giving myself and her a little more ...

Still prefer her to look this way

Image
Janelle complained she was very hot and requested to have her hair tied up. I managed to make a small pony tail and she was so happy that her hair could be tied up and I told her she looked so cute and pretty this way. She was just like a little princess to me. She was so happy to be praised......

Thunder Tea lover

I am a Thunder tea lover. I didnt really like it at 1st try. My mum introduce to me actually, infact I couldnt really take the green tea soup. I find it too strong for me but one day when I decided to give it a try again I turned addicted to it. On and off i will have craving for Thunder tea meal, especially with brown rice. I find it very satisfying and fill my stomach without much oil and calories. Great for healthy as it contains lots n lots of vegetables. Unfortunately, Law doesnt like it, so I also eat it alone. Yesterday I told Law I have craving for thunder tea. Well, he give me that kind of face again. I have asked him to try many times but he rejected me. Surprisingly, he volunteered to try it yesterday but he told me he will give me the green tea soup and just took the rice. Infact he asked me to order brown rice as well. He took it well but not the soup, I was very touched that he has finally willingly to try out something I like but I wld expect him to take it often.

My Fuji camera is alive again

Just month ago I wrote in my blog that I saw "screensaver" on my fuijifilm finepix camera. It was truely a shock as i never expect my small camera will be gone this fast. Well, it was not really gone but just that I cant really see what I was taking from the screen anymore. Law asked if i wanna repaired it. I said if not too expansive, i dun mind get it fix. So Law sent it down for a diagnose and was told could be fixed. A replacement of LCD panel cost $40, which is quite reasonable but there is a labour cost of $50, together with GST, we need to fork out $96.30 and not is not inclusive of diagnose charge which is $10.70 w GST. Anyway, i told Law to go ahead cos I still like this camera very much. It has still serve us well. Today, I saw my small camera as good as new again... Cheers!

Who is complaining?

One day, Law mentioned something about Julian. Law: Boy boy knows how to complain now. Me: Complains, is it? How come I didnt know that? When? Any example? Law: Neh, he was complaining about me the other day when I tickled him. Me: You mean protesting har, saying you are a NAUGHTY DADDY. Law: Yah, saying me naughty. That is not complaining meh? Julian : (Mummy see. Daddy NAUGHTY!!!!!!!!!!!)

School excusion - a show

The childcare is bringing the kids to watch a local production - "Bear & Chicken go Camping". Each kid cost $22, which is much more cheaper as compare to other mummies's CC. Unfortunately Julian was down with high fever a few days before the excusion and his fever just managed to subside at a stable tempertature a day before. We have decided that he stay at home to rest so his place n ticket will be wasted. haizzzzz..... Next time ok, boy. However, Janelle was very excited. She has been telling me what I need to prepare for her that day. No slipper, no heel, she has to wear sport or cover shoes with socks. She need to reach the school by 8:30am and I have being telling her to drink alot of water and no heaty food & snack so she will not fall sick. I wonder if she enjoys the show...... Here are some writing abt the show.... Presented by SRT's The Little Company DBS Arts Centre - Home of SRT One night, best friends Chicken and Bear go on a camping adventure in t...
