Kids wanted to eat shabu shabu but i didnt want to pay for the buffet so i suggest alternative and we end up at Mookata. "Wanna try?" i askes the end and the next moment we were seated in the restuarant. The kids were very excited cos it was a shabu shabu and bbq combination. That was what Julian said. Got a shock on how huge the steamboat n bbq plate infront of us.  Place order for a set for 2 and add on a platr of chicken n pork. I didnt eat much cos no appetite. The kids enjoy the dinner n experience very much. 

Last year we did something to our house and good things happens. There is harmony in the house and kids are doing better. This year we redo the toilet flooring cos it pops up and it was still under warrenty and the contractor redo for free. However during the removal process the wall tiles were slightly damaged and they did something they never did before for other clients for us. We take the chance to change the color, doing the same as my common toilet.  Hubby was oversea for work and he was happy with the end product. Thanks MIL coming over to accoy me.  Our BIA ocean. Delivery done àt 7pm. The kids jump onto the bed to test it.  It was so thick and the bed was so high now like hotel bed.  A free storage long bench. Matching my existing sofa.

There are so many promotion on the air tickets but but but I have to resist myself from it. Law doesnt have many leaves left this year. (because this company calculated his leave wrongly when he joined the coy and the coy decided to change the leave scheme from 21 days to 14 days. Shocking to all of us) We are having our BDS25 cruise with the BDS gang in March that eat up some of Law's leave as well. Leave is one of the reason we cant travel extensively this year and there is another reason too.  We may not be able to go back for grandma birthday celebration in June too. Feeling so sad about it now. 

Time to make pineapple tarts again. 小姨dropped me a Whatsapp message that she hoped to get a tub of pineapple tart from me this year again. Did I make the tart for her last year? I cant remember leh.  Request all the way from KL. WOW that show how big my business getting. Over these years, I am very loyal to 1 of the recipe but there are different recipes that claimed to be "melt in the mouth" so i decided to try one of the recipe which contain lesser ingredients than the recipe i used to make.  The texture of the dough is the same as my recipe. very soft and very hard to handle however the taste is not as rich as I wanted it to be. I made one batch of it and decided to fall back to my old recipes. 

年糕年糕，吃年糕会年年高升 This year I challenge myself to make Nian Gao instead of Chinese New year cookies because I remember my mum passed me a super big electric steamer. It is so big that can steam a whole fish! I placed beside my 2.2L kettle and my 1.8L of rice cooker for comparison. The steamer allow me to place 4 x 6" cake tin for steaming and I have 2 tiers which mean I can steam 8 Niao Gao at one go.  There are 3 types of Nian Gao I wanted to try this year.  1) Normal sweet Nian Gao 2) Red Bean Nian Gao 3) Fu Zhou savoury Nian Gao \ I followed a Taiwan cooking show and the recipe on the 2) Red Bean Nian Gao. It was way too soft and not sweet enough for me. I dun have sweet tooth but Nian Gao just dont take good if it is not sweet. Law is going GuangZhong for work again. I managed to make an appointment with Dr Beh for my 1st checkup. Why I should Dr Beh and not gynae who delivered Janelle or Julian? It was due to my last operation, I wanted the last doctor that follow up with my case. At least he knew what I have being through previously. I must thanks him for saving my womb that I could still carry another child now. My most concern is whether my cyst came back while I am having another baby. I didnt want a foreign object fighting nutrients with my baby. I could hardly see anything when Dr Beh did the scan for me but he told us a sac can be found but will need me to come back another 2 weeks later to check for baby heartbeat. I took this chance to ask him if he found recurring cysts after he removed a mega one for me 2 years ago. He said I was still under his warrenty period and he found nothing accept a sac currently. This is a good new to me, so my big tummy is just my fats and not growing cyst.

Beside MIL, the next person who I break my new to is my sister. Hoping she could save some of the baby stuffs for me. Just like when she got pregnant with Neely, she was also excited for me. She told me our common friend's wife also pregnant. Wow happy for the couple because they are good people and waited for child for very long time. God bless the couple and guard this little bundle of happiness all the way. Law and I was counting the number of babies we expecting from our surrounding friends. Didnt expect so many SG50 babies this year. Although I really wanted to share with my colleagues but I have to hold the new till baby is more stabilize. I was thinking how am I going to break the new to our two kids and my mum.

The day that Julian has waited for is finally here. When we briefed him what he needed to do on the stage, he suddenly told us he has cold feet about it. It was his 1st time up the stage and he said he will forgot if he should take his prize 1st or if he should shake the MP's hand 1st. We asked him to watch how other prize recipient do, as a guide of what he will need to do when his name was called. Thank to Janelle who constantly guiding him along and reminds him what he needs to do while he is on stage. The family is invited together with the kids up the stage to take photos with the MP when the recipient name was called so all of us got to shake MP hands and his well wishes for the kid as well as for the family. Thanks the school for nominating Julian for Good Progress Award, it is definitely a great encouragement for him to continue to do well and believe in himself that as long as he is determination, he can do it.

We have waited days and thinking if we should go ahead to test again. Finally, we walked into Guardian to get a test kit. Excitedly, I asked Law when should we test? In the morning, I asked if I should test? However, at this moment I have a mixed feeling. Do I really want to get pregnant? I am already 38 this year, high risk pregnancy, will this baby be ok? What happen if the baby is not ok? I am counting back really fast in my mind. When the youngest in P1, how old am I? I will be 45! A mummy at 45, OMG? How? Reading the instruction on the test kit, I went to collect my 1st urine of the day and follow the instruction clearly. I need to place the kit flat and wait for 5 mins. I told Law I am very nervous, I dun think I can test whatever result that show on the kit. He walked into the bathroom 5 mins later, there was a result. He picked up the instruction manual and asked me what does 2 strips means? My instinct on my body changes is right, even after 9 years the familiar feeling ...

去旧迎新 something we wanted to do every year. Last year we do up the toilet flooring and toilet bowl. This year hubby decided that something must go and he picked our mattress. Yes, our mattress is with us for more than 10 years and that gave him more than one reason to change a new one. He swear he is not going to take back the brand we are sleeping now.  It is not fair to say our current brand is no good cos it is still a very famous brand in the market. Just that at the time we bought the mattress, it was just an entry level may be over years, the performance may be not as good.  We didnt really go sourcing intensively for mattresses. We happened to dropby Big Box and there is a saleman with very good sale tactic that won us over the product he was selling. We didnt place our order on the spot. Last week was a busy week for me there are two talks at two different school that I need to rush. Fortunately, it was on different days else I will have to miss one. On Friday, CCPS invited all the parents to the new renovated school or rebuilt school. Finally I get to see the new school and both me and Janelle loves it so much but the only complained she has was to climbed many flights of stairs to her classroom which was at Level 5.  Artificial green field. 

Parents are invited for a talk on Saturday from as early as 8.30am to 10.45 but I spent more than that in Julian school. The parents are invited to the hall for a briefing from the principal and then eacorted to the kids classroom. For a moment I have doubt if I got Julian class right. Oh yeh, i was right and I managed to find his table and took a photo to show him. Got a quick opporunity to talk to his form teacher and express some concern we have and hopefully the teacher will take note. Then just like Julian, i get to.move on to another class for Chinese briefing and once again me and another mummy brought up our concern about the subject. All and all we needes the session longer than expected.

I am not feeling very well today, having some itchy skin down under and it is getting a bit worse. I told Law I need to see the doctor today and get MC to rest at home. My menses was 2 days late and I have a weird feeling about it. Am I too sensitive or is woman instinct again?  My number was called and I sat down to tell doctor my problem. I also told him my menses was late for 2 days but I wasnt sure and checked if the medication he was going to give me are safe. He suggested I did a quick test before he wrote his prescription for me.  I was call and recall back to his room 10 min later. He showed me the test kit, was telling me it was clear a while ago but now there was a very very fainting line. He wanted me to test again a week later but to be safe he will not prescribe me with anything that would possibly harmful. Heavy heart - I dun know is this a false alarm, should I tell Law. Had an argument with him on having another child before. 

Buying in bulk? Yay for the wholesale concept that florish recently in Singapore. 1 box this price, 2 boxes cheaper so we got brain washed on the saving and now we have 2 big boxes sitting at home.

If only Law allow pets, I guess my house will be full of meows and woof. I am so surprised that Julian pretty brave with pets. Despite years of request for hamsters but he still will not agree So he can only play at BIL place but I was told as long as 奶奶 is around they are not allow to touch the pets. The hamster is so well feed and so chubby. The hamster must has get so used to Julian scent that they did not reject him. See how much it enjoyed to be held by him. He really loves them. 

While marketing for my ingredients for the dinner at Tekka Market we came across this huge grouper hanging in the middle of the market. Surprise and pity the huge fish. Should have lay low and deep into the ocean. It must took very long for it to grow so big. We all wonder who will buy the fish, although not expecting just one buyer. 

I didnt want to have a celebration but Janelle insisted. So I struggle to make it happen again. There are some miscommunication and Janelle requested for the wrong cake and we order the wrong one, worse part is Law didnt even ask them to pipe wordings on the cake. 11 years old. So fast.  Big princess, small princess... All the cousins.  This year less presents and more angbao. Thanks sister, brother, mum, mother in law, Brother in law for the angbao to contribute to Janelle's educational fund.

After discussion we decided to get the garment steamer to ease the pain of ironing work. Easier for hubby shirts and some of my tops and dresses that required ironing, I mean steaming. I really hate ironing and that also preventing me to get clothes that required ironing but how not to get clothes that do not require ironing at all. Now with this it will be so much easier, no more setting up of ironing board. Novita is having some promotion for some of the models, we got it at Isetan which gave us another 3% rebate.  It is pretty easy to setup, as for use one need to really build up the skill to steam the clothes. The 1st shirt I steam was Law's shirt. He was so excited and handed me one of his shirt for me to test out. It took me a while to complete the steaming plus steaming my fingers cos I am building up my skill now. After the 1st shirt, I tried on my new DP dress which I completed the dress in 2 mins. 

My man in this family has more winter jacket than anyone of us. It is hard to stop him from getting the clothes once he set his eyes on them. His reasons were that the jackets was having 50% discount, thick enough for colder climate and cheaper than the usual brands he spotted. Of course, it was a fashion jacket so more stylo-milo than the normal sport jackets he saw. What can I say? Just stare hard at him and pity my wardrobe.

Another year has gone and the new year has arrived which also mean a new school year. Got new bags for the kids and they are just in time cos i ordered pretty late and thought they wldnt be in time for school. Thanks Lilian for the collection, the kids love the color.
