I am gear to plan for June holiday. Where are we going? Hmm quite standard as we are going back to Sitiawan for Grandma birthday. However for this year Cousin Ah Long is also holding his wedding around that date. Good for us as it kills two birds with a stone and we also get to travel all the way to Ipoh, driving in to Ipoh for the 1st time. Thinking of the food that we can eat.. yummy.. 大舅has booked a 2 storey semi-detached apartment for us at Ipoh which he told us consisted 4 bedrooms and only cost us RM$250 per night. With a kampong of us going back, I think we need that big square area of apartment. It is so cheap! If the apartment is well maintenance and clean, I dun mind going back again. Beside the food, people and places I can go and meet, I am thinking to bring the kids for another beach retreat. Got a call from Eng Boon, asking if I will be interested in balloon sculpturing. Yes but the timing wasnt right. Another house visit is coming on 1 April, and I will be going to help. Last round was quite fun but this time Eng Boon wanted me to do more. I will be rotating with another member to take down concerns that residents are facing. Errr... secretary job, not my niche but I can try, hope I didnt not miss out anything.

Law sent me this pictures and told me about the wok that he and MIL has discovered while shopping at OG. MIL said this was supposed to be a good wok according to the wok material. After much discussion Law had with MIL, he got me a new wok. It was quite rare for a husband to get a wok for his wife. This was what he got me, I just 开锅 last Sunday. Yes, like it claimed I did not need to use much oil during cooking and the surface was smooth and yet I did not need to worry if I will "flower" the surface cos there wasnt any coating on the surface. The con was it was heavy for me to do the food flipping by swinging the wok and yet it was still a pro to be heavy as it will not move while I doing large quantity frying like frying large amount of bee hoon.

My craving for crab was so strong that I paid a $20 for a single crab. Crazy? Oh if u were a crabby person this was definitely worth it but u think what is the different with this crab and other crabs u have other places then u really dun know how to enjoy crab. How I wish I could fork out another $20 or another crabs like this. I was not going after the meat, I am going after the ROE... yes the high Calories ROE only... Before I married my hubby, before I killed, prepared and cook my own crabs at home. Crabs to me are all the same but that was not true. My MIL taught me how to see the different type of crabs, I accoy her to Tekka market one morning when we needed to get crabs for a special get together occassion. As she was a gourmet expert so I have to make sure the ingredient I got must be of fresh and good grade. We went to a seafoos stalls that selling crabs, MIL asked for "Yellow Roe" crabs. It was indeed an experience for me and I never thought I will experience so much in just two days. 1st I was called to help out with the house visit. I went cos I thot if I participated more event, there will be more chances for my face to show around in the group and the committee will confirmed me earlier. My last impression of the meeting wasnt as pleasant and I have totally no expectation. However, the advisor surprised me of his friendliness and humour. The other members had also taught me alot during the session, I began to let down my guard and be myself. I was even surprised another volunteer like me who served with the same motive and was actually a mother of Julian's classmate. It was so nice to find someone who also working toward the same goal. I wished I will be able to give more to the neighbourhood.

Do you know what is Congkak? I believe many doesnt if I didnt show you the picture of it. May be when you see it you will go "Oh... this is call Congkak!". The newer urban generation may not come across this toy and probably thinks it is a big saucer plates or a starter plates use by some Balinese restuarant. I was walking around Jonker street in Melaka on Thursday morning hoping to get some wooden souvenior back home from this trip. I spotted a colorful and decorated baskets that I wanted to get during my last trip but didnt. This time I was quite determined to get my hand on it. I visited a few shops and finally settle for one when they offered me RM50 for the basket I wanted and I was looking ard for a gift for a little friend when I spotted the Congkak. There was a discussion about crab and we set a date for crab right after my PD trip. Thanks Faith for helping me to look after the kids so I could go all the way to Tekka Market to get the crabs. I didnt know Little India MRT has an exit right beside the market and it makes marketing so convenience to me. Unfortunate the seller did not have the "Yellow Roe" I wanted, she only has the normal meaty crab and the Red Roe crabs. I took 2 Sri Lanka crabs and they already near to 2kg. These two crabs are not cheap, it was not any cheaper for me to eat crabs at the restaurant anyway. I checked with Faith if she mind I asked my sister and mother along cos it was more merrier to have more pple enjoying it. Luckily she did not mind, but I was worried if 2 crabs was enough so I went to Sheng Siong to get two more smaller crabs. I was wondering if this thing going to work but I saw many pple wearing it. My Primary school from Sumei was also wearing it when she came over my place for gathering. She claimed it did help her to relieve some tension during exercise and the knee pain her mother used to have. I didnt give myself much time for the research for the product, and we had already owned one. Law tripped and fell at the pool during our stayed at Avilion Port Dickson, couldnt find a better medical aids at this shortest time. I suggested he tried getting the Phiten x50 to wear, one of the reason because he had stiff neck problem, migrine issue as well. Althot till now I do not know how effective this necklace is going to help him but I am willing to get him to try. He was a bit concern to wear it too short over his neck so he got the longest 65cm to hide under his shirt. Thanks to Giselle and Joe for recommending me Jonker Boutique Hotel. I booked their largest room which has two Queen size beds. The room is very spacious and clean, service was good, the receptionist was really helpful when we asked for best food ard. A room without wardrobe which make the room very spacious. Law was happy to find the room was equipped with Samsung latest LED TV and kids were happy that the hotel offer Cartoon Network for them. A little Kopi corner in the room Contemporary style bathroom, kids are exciting to continue their mini splash session again. Stairway up and down the room. Would not recommend to book level 2 for old people. Stick to level 1 to minimise much climbing for weak knee. We enjoyed the stay at J.B hotel very much although I paid Rm328 per night there which I can easily get a Family suite at Holiday Inn hotel at Melaka. Ms Worry, Ms Bad arranged to meet at the 1st RnR right after the Msia Tua Checkpoint. I have told Law that we need to reach there by 9:30pm but somehow there were hiccups that morning. 1st Law leftout my camera bag, how could we go vacation without camera! So we turned back to pick up the bag, that did not really made us late. When we just turned out of Old Airport Rd, Law realised he did not pack his HP charger, ok I was about to fume but I kept my cool but already very buay song cos we are going to be late. If there was a jam at Tuas it was going to be worse. So we dashed and I pray that no jam at Spore and Msia. Lucky day, the traffic was smooth and we managed to reach the meeting point at 9:45pm about 15min late. So we got the kids to go for a toilet break while we syn the walkie talkie so we could talkie each other if there was a need to stop for a rest on the way. I was typing creating this blog entry will sitting at the balcony watching out into the wide sea coast. So shiok n relaxing! We were lucky, cos we got a free upgrade to premium room for the 1st night that I did not manage to get online. Which gave us a RM100 saving. The kids are extremely high when they entered the room. Even happy when they knew ZY n ZL are just next door.

After the site survey we went to a Fish Restaurant ard Sri Petaling for dinner. Soup of the day and vegetable Oops my bowl of rice but it doesnt smell nice. They did not use good quality rice grain. My lotus root soup. Egg plants and steam egg. Cheapo dish offered in the menu. This dish doesnt taste good at all, dun know wat the chef is cooking. The best part of the dinner was the fish. This is "Ba Ding", a kind of river fish that can be found in many Malaysia fish farm. I was told this was the cheapest River fish. The meat is very tender and sweet, we all like it very much. Another fish in our menu, we were shocked when we saw two fish was served on our table and started to wonder if the set going to cost us RM118 per table or RM118 per head. The set meal that was offered in the restaurant. We chosed menu C for dinner. This is the restaurant we visited, do go for the fish if you are ard Sri Petaling.
