Pain in the ear

Janelle's teacher called me to inform me that Janelle complained of pain in her ear. She wanted me to take note, very nice of the teacher to show concern and bother to inform the parents. I have suspected something was going to happen to her ear so when I saw her at MIL place. I told I needed to clean her ear else she will experienced pain again. I explained that I will be very gentle when I doing the extraction. I asked her to lay down and relax, I'm trying my best to extract as much as possible. The ear wax had turned hard, luckily we have done some flush the past few night and some portion had soften a bit. Guess wat, I extracted a very big piece of ear wax out from her ear. YUCK! It is more yucky than Julian's. Janelle asked me not to show her cos she didnt want to see. Clever ger... I continued to clear the other side, luckily the other side was not as bad. Now her ear is clean and she no longer feel the pain.

Size of a raisin

Do u help to clear the kids ear wax? The right way was to flush it with ear drop and let the ear wax flow out on it own. How many parents actually do that? We didnt! No sure wat came to me that I decided to check on Julian ear, then I saw a big ear wax stuck at the right side of his ear. I use a ear digger that come with a light, and trying my best to do what I can. Julian was very steady, he lay still and let me do my job. I managed to get rid of the big piece of ear wax that looked like a raisin. YUCKS! Then I continued checking his left ear and realised the same thing, but this time round he didnt really allow me to continue for long. I only manage to clear a small portion of it. I decided to check Janelle ears, she has the same problem too but she was quite freak out of the process and was screaming and crying for help. She really cannot take a slight pain.... haizzz Law suggested to use the ear flush, hoping the harden wax will be dissolved and flow out eventually but I am not too...

Tooth Fairy is knocking

Janelle told me she had a tooth that was shaky, I asked her to show me. One of the front tooth is really shaking now. I told her no need to panic, just dun exert too much force when she trying to bite using her front teeth. Law suggested to the poor ger that he will help to pull out the tooth for him. Of course, Janelle went screamed to protest. Silly daddy going ard scaring her. Should I bring her to visit the dentist? Will the dentist pull out her tooth or I should just wait for it to drop by it own. Like others, I do scare that she swallow the tooth... hmmmmm....

Can u swallow pls?

Can you swallow a pill at 4yo? I dun rbr when can I start swallowing pill. Janelle was given some pills for some illness, cant really rbr wat was it abt. I'm not sure if she could actually willing to try swallow it. Anyway, it was really a small one, if she didnt all i need to do was to crash it in a spoon and dissolve it with water. So before I did that I actually asked her if she wanna try swallow it since it was really small. She nodded her head. With no fear, she actually swallow the pill. I felt like applausing at that moment cos it can be tricking when swallowing a small pill. It can get stuck at the entry of the throat and left a bitter aftertaste. YUCK! That was my personal experiences all the time when I have to swallow small pill. Guess i really underestimate my ger, she took it so well. So when the NorthWest doctor prescribe Cordyceps capsule for her, I felt stuck again. Comparing to the pill, the capsule is 5 - 6x bigger. I dun really want to open up the capsule to feed...

New Wall paper on my F50

OMG! is the 1st word i said when I saw my F50 camera last night. I took out my camera thinking to take pictures of the kids when we having dinner at MOF. I found a leaf like wall paper on my LED panel after I on my camera. Gosh... I can only see half image on the panel and I know my camera was already gone. Im trying very hard to recall how I broke it but I dun think I did anything that could injured my camera that badly. Heartache is the only word to describe now. Althot Law got me a DSLR but I still quite dependent on my take and shot camera for quick shot. Fortunately, I still have half a panel left for photo taking....

Dinner at MOF

Image
I have being lazy these few weekends so I suggested to have dinner outside instead. We head down to Marina Sq MOF for dinner. It was then I realised my Camera panel was broken and just couldnt recall when does it happen. But I still can take pictures with it. Here are some pictures taken...

Sentosa

Have being thinking to bring the kids to Sentosa beach for family weekend outing. I thot I can make use of the promotion given by the Singapore Tourism Board but only to realise it doesnt apply to drive in. Law needs to attend a wedding dinner at night so there is no intention to stay in the small island for too long. I chose Butterfly Garden and LUGE and last stop will be the Palawan Beach. We had our breakfast at McDonald, both kids finished their pancake and we reached Sentosa ard 10am. The road has changed alot, the last time we entered the island was when we brot Jin Wen ard. Law parked his car at the beach Carpark and we took the internal ferry service to the butterfly Garden. The garden was quite an interesting place and we get to see alot of butterflies, beetle etc etc. I enjoyed snapping alots of photos of the insects. Our next stop LUGE, wanting to let Julian has a try of it. He was quite tired by then, but soon peck up when we were on the skyride. I bot the family package so...

Outcome of the bun making

I used the 2nd receipe to make bun on Sat. Hmmmm it doesnt turn out as soft as I imagine. May be I did something wrong. Intended to use the left over bak kwa from CNY as the stuffing but realised it had turned mouldy so I only use hot dog, Cheddar cheese and luncheon meat as the fillings. It was really a lousy hazy day so we all decided to stay indoor and enjoyed our bread. Law commented that the bread taste quite nice and wanted to bring some for PIL as snack for their Msia trip but I stopped him cos the bread wasnt really that nice. Dun want PIL to suffer due to my skill. We brot the kids to parkway after Janelle's class, Julian and Law needed a haircut. Didnt really like the style Julian had this time but Law had a nice haircut. We have sushi for lunch and I told Law that we would go back for their set meal ever again. It taste horrible. No programme at night as the weather was still hazy and I have difficult breathing once I step out the house so we laze ard at home watching TV...

Be appreciative

Law must have pampered me too much. 1st he got me a IPOD Touch and a better quality earpiece for my Bday then a DSLR camera. My IPOD ran out of battery, so I used my earphone to listen the songs from my notebook. The songs quality from my notebook were so different from IPOD . I felt like listening to a lousy piece of recording. The feeling was like I am in a hollow room listening to the music, the music sound so ghostly that bounced everywhere. Must be the MP3 quality that I downloaded from the website. Horrible music!!!

A Baking Promise

I was supposed to bake a bread on Sunday but I was just too tired after working overnight. Unfortunately I told Janelle I will be doing some baking. She wasnt very happy that I changed my mind then. I have to bluff her that I ran out of yeast and forgotten to get more. Luckily she took my explaination, so another promised that we make some this coming weekend. Yes, cannot run away from it anymore and I was cracking my brain and search high and low for a good receipe for bun / bread. Ang Bao

15th day of Chinese New Year has ended and it is also the open Ang Bao time. This year the kids collected a total of 104 ang bo that is 52 for each kid. WOW.... I never had this many angbao when I was young. As for the amt, sorry that is a secret.

More work for myself

I have a tone of material that I need to go through and prepared. I am stretching myself a little more again. I can feel the stress build up within myself when the kids grow older.

Working overnight

After working and meeting for weeks, the final day has come. I was stationed at the user site for the migration. Commerced at 1700hrs we worked thru the night and managed to complete at 0400hrs, it was a near 12 hrs job. While doing it, i kept yawning, was wondering why I kept doing that but forgotten that it had pass midnight. All of us, trying to keep ourselves awake by talking to each other as much as possible. What we hoped was to have a clear mind to make all the sound decision. With the final testing and verification, we got the green light to go off. I reached home nearly 5am and fell into deep sleep immediately....

Are you Daddy?

I was holding hands while walking toward our car. Janelle: Daddy, where are we going? Are we going home? We are going to Yee yee house later right? Janelle was shooting numerous questions to Law but he was carrying Julian walking infront. I thot that Law did not hear Janelle so I when answering on his behalf. Mum: Yes... we are going home. Not yee yee place, PoPo place for dinner at night. Jovan will be there. Janelle: Mummy, are u daddy? Me: Huh *burst in laughter*

Last day of Chinese New Year.

Fifteenth day of the new year The fifteenth day of the new year is celebrated as Yuánxiāo jié (元宵节), otherwise known as Chap Goh Mei in Fujian dialect. Rice dumplings Tangyuan ( simplified Chinese : 汤圆; traditional Chinese : 湯圓; pinyin : tāngyuán), a sweet glutinous rice ball brewed in a soup, is eaten this day. Candles are lit outside houses as a way to guide wayward spirits home. This day is celebrated as the Lantern Festival , and families walk the street carrying lighted lanterns. This day often marks the end of the Chinese New Year festivities. (extracted from wikipedia.com) The actual Yuanxiao is on the 09 Jan but that is a weekday and no one will have the time to celebrate it, so my mum "recall" the whole family back on 08 Jan which was a Sunday for another round of "reunion" before the Lunar New year ends. We have steamed boat this time as mum didnt want to do much frying. I have a round of manjong with my mum, sister and Vincent. Too bad I cant stay lat...

Primary School Gathering

Thanks to Law for making the arrangement so that I can attend a Primary School gathering. It was such a great great fun meeting up friends that I never meet for 20 years. Yumei didnt change much, she still look like when she was in primary school day. Jacqueline is still as sexy as before, and wun know that she was already a mother of two. Wenzhong is still as humourous with his own way of teaching to his son. Unfortunately Sumei need to rush some work and couldnt join us. Have punished her and get her to organise the next meeting. I am very grateful to the creator of Facebook. It helps to reconnect my old school friends once again. It started one late night, there wasnt much update on my facebook. So I tried my luck by doing a search on my Primary School "Temasek Primary". It had a few results returned and there was one particular group that specifically indicated the year of guaduate. I went in to see and saw my classmate "Jacqueline". I recognised her immediately...

Update on the kids progress

Indeed reading to the kids really help the kids alots. Janelle is an independent reader now, althot she still wants me to read to her. Only reason that she cannot pronoun some of the words and she need me to go thru the story with her 2 - 3x and soon she can pick up the words herself and read on her own. However by then she already getting bored with the books and proceed on but she has picked up the words from each books and expanded her word bank. Julian is progressing fast too, althot he is not as fast as his peers but I am still very happy to see that he is learning well. Sometime I caught him humming some songs but just couldnt make up what was it. I went thru the words book with him that used to belong to Janelle. He is picking up fast and able to pronoun 3 syllabus words more clearly. As now, he is still a very China boy just as Janelle used to be. We have plans for the kids to further improve their language skill. Law and I feel it is impt that the kids build up their language ...

A mountain bread

Image
I was putting my bread dough for proving. I asked Janelle to check the dough for me. Me: Janelle, can u pls check the dough for me. Janelle: Ok mummy. Me: pls dun press it. Janelle: Oh mummy, look ur dough has mountain! Me: Huh... Janelle: Yes, it has mountain! (Yes... the dough has double it size and look like a mountain. A pretty creative description)

Gathering with Ex-collicks

Finally... yes finally I find myself sometime and meet up with Chia Hock, Kim Hong, Karol and Jennifer. Well they are the fun batch of collicks which I have known for 10 years. I really enjoyed the old days of SCO where we will stay after work for jogging, coffee and watching movie in the office. I was late for the dinner, so I asked the majority to decide a restuarant I meet them at Central. They settled for Mahattan Fishmarket. I must say it was a great choice as the food was great and not oily. I tired their food at JB but they taste ever better here only that it cost more in spore. We have a great time updating each other, talking abt kids, works, lasik etc etc... Of course, hubby willingness to help out to take care of the kids so I can meet up with friends and I still grant another outing with my Pri school classmate on coming Wednesday.

My Loaf

Image
I have started baking again. This time I did a bread! Seaching high and low for a receipe on bread. I came upon this Hokkiado Milk Loaf, simple ingredient so i decided to give it a try. Well, the loaf is not really fantastic but still ok, at least Janelle likes it....

19 years of friendship

Image
Every year someone will organised and make arrangement to visit our secondary teachers. No different from other years. Starting from the year that Mrs Tay didnt teach us till we graduated from Sec, during our poly time, started working, after married and till we carried our kids. We have never failed or missed a year to visit the teacher. We have seen how much each of us transform into.... we love this moment of gathering. I believe my teachers enjoyed us coming over every year to chit chat and talk nonsense each time. Of course, they have also witness how much Janelle and Julian grow. This year, Joe mentioned that we have marked 19 years of friendship. He had reminded us how we spent our 10year anniversary and asked shld we do something big on the 20th. Both Mrs Tay and Ms Shek encouraged us to celebrate the big "20" and we have a year to brainstorm it...... 19 coming to 20s.... i have really lost my count
