Just settled the goodies bags that are to be given out for Julian Bday celebration in school. I told Law I saw this magic pen color set which cost $2 at Daiso but not possible for me to bring back without transport. Law purposely made a trip to IMM after fetching me from work. He said to go there for dinner and he reminded me abt the color set for the goodies bag. I was surprised that he actually paying attention to the kids bday preparation or I should say for Julian bday preparation only. He even asked if I have shortlisted the cake for him. Never did he even pay so much attention to Janelle's Bday. At least I have one item off my mind and next is to decide if we are going to hold a small celebration for Julian with his little friends or only among families.

Fan Yang's Gazillion Bubble Show

A great thanks to my BIL, with some biz contact he managed to get some free tickets for the kids to watch the show. The tix cost as high as $68 and cheapest of $38, I was still wondering how much I am willing to fork out for this show. Since Xian said BIL will have some discount for the tix we waited for BIL to be back from Taiwan trip for more details. Unfortunately, the tic was sold out after that but fortunately the organiser was giving us 4 tickets to the 1st show. I asked Xian to bring the kids along instead but I forgotten to bring my camera along so didnt manage to take any photos of the huge bubbles. Xian said bubbles had made the children very HIGH at the 2nd part of the show and they enjoyed it every part of it. Julian kept asking us to get the bubble set after the show, he simply cant get enough for it. Well, at least the kids got to watch something during this school holiday (althot the school holiday did not really apply to Janelle and Julian). Free tix, alots of fun. Wha...

Great Grandma 84th Bday

Image
MIL planned a small dinner session to celebrate Law's grandma Bday. She is 84th this year, consider old age. MIL said her sight is getting worse each day, one of her eye is at the blind state, the other is getting worse and she can hardly see anything at night. Therefore specific instruction was passed down to avoid bringing the old lady out at night. Even if so, she must be escorted to her doorstep and not to drop her at the void deck. In the family, only Uncle Jimmy is not married and living with grandma but sometime they will still have conflicts. We will try to visit her as often as possible on weekends and MIL will make an effort to travel to Tiong Bahru to buy her meals and keep her company. I love Law's grandma, she is not the fierce type but she has authority in her words, especially on my MIL. She still giving all her kids and grandchildren Ang Bao during CNY. Whatever amount we gave her, she will only take a small percentage and return us the rest. We told her to ke...

Till today I have not complete the KPI that Law has set for me. So from time to time, I get to listen to his complains. Daddy: Only if you can drive, I can relax much more. Mummy: *Quiet* Janelle: Why daddy? Mummy cannot drive? Daddy: Yah lor, ask her to learn and she is still not doing anything. Janelle: Mummy, if u can drive then can bring us shopping no need daddy anymore. Mummy: I can drive a plane, no need to learn to drive a car. Janelle: You can fly a plane? How come I didnt know about it? Mummy: I cant park a plane on the road. A plane need alot of parking space. Janelle: Really, you never tell me at all! (Amazed by what she was just told) Daddy: Yah yah.... 可爱和天真的孩子。。。

Things for little ones

I got this cute Nissin noodles for the kids, it is really 2 mouthful for the adult but sufficient for some fun eating for the kids. Janelle chose the pack with the fox ingredient while Julian asking the one with dogs. I think these are the little dehydrated fish cake packed together with the soup flavouring. Very easy to prepare, all i need is to add hot water and covered the bowl up for 2 minutes and voila, it is ready to eat. Janelle soup base is very much like the seafood daishi base that I always prepared with thicker noodles while Julian soup base quite like the normal instant noodles flavouring. We dun usually allow the kids to have such food often but I think once a blue moon is acceptable. It is actually very convenience to bring while travelling with the kids. Just see how much the kids enjoy....

Little Reward

Janelle came home with a present, I asked if any of her classmate bday again. She said this present was from her chinese teacher Lan Lao Shi. She claimed the present was for students who have did well for their 听写 all these while. It was a little pink pouch and she said she will keep it and used it when she is primary one. Whether I agree with reward to encourage the kids to perform well in studies? I dun really against or agree with this method. For different kids, this method can be quite effective as long as we know when and how to use it. I believe the teacher did not mention anything abt reward in the begining for the school term. It was merely her effort to encourage the better performance kids to continue to do well. Eventually, we all need a goal to strive for, it will be quite meaningless to just moving aimlessly in life. Well done, my girl. Hope you understand the hardwork that you have put in is meant for you. You did it for yourself and not for any other people. We will onl...

My 1st attempt to make Bak Chang

Image
When I 1st told my MIL that I am thinking of making Bak Chang, she gave me a big eyes. She cannot believe I want to challenge myself with that. Well, as the cooking passion fire burning all the time, I hope I can move further. This time Bak Chang. Yes, the teochew Bak Chang with pork belly, mushroom and white bean. There is some preparation to be done day ahead, I need to soak, boil the bamboo leaves to make sure it is soft enough for wrapping and soak white bean overnight to get ready the next day. Then come the meat, pork belly specially instructed by my MIL to have some fats in the meat so it taste nicer. Healthy or not - NO but the bak chang will taste nicer with some fats. As i anticipated that I will likely not the one who will be consuming the bak chang. I might as well granted majority request to have some fatty meat in the dumplings. I loved my dumplings with alot of dried shrimp but Law and MIL do not like it so I have it fried separately so the meat will not be covered with...

Viral Fever

Just a day after my arrival, Julian was down with fever. GP has warned me that the fever viral will spread. 2 days after Janelle got it from Julian too but hers was so much more serious than the brother. Julian was more or less recovered from his fever after 3 days but Janelle's fever just kept hovering ard 39 - 40 degree for the next 3 days and only managed to come down to 38 degree after the antibotics was given due to the development of phlegm at her back and throat. The kids had underwent western medication and chinese medication with Tui Na. I do not dare to calculate the amount of $$ that we had spent seeing the doctor. Fortunately my coy IHP covered the kids medical. On the 5th day, Janelle's fever has finally came down to normal level but still at fence edge. Unfortunately, this morning her temperature has hit back to 38 degree again. Haizzz.. This viral fever is really stubborn, really hope the kids can recover soon.

My 1st encountered of Jetlag

Image
The last trip to France was 8 yrs ago and jetlag is never a problem to me but this time was different. My jetlag was pretty bad, I tried to adjust by not sleeping in the day and get myself so tired so I can sleep in the night but I couldnt. I woke up 3am on the 1st night and managed to get back to rest for a while at 6:30am before I rushed to do my marketing at 7am cos I missed spore soup too much. Then my poor Julian went sick so I brot him to see a doctor, by 9am I realised I having hard time keeping my eyes open. Asking me how but I know none how I still managed to bring Julian to see a western doctor then to Kembangan for Tui Na session then back home. My MIL was nice enought to jagar Julian for me while I need to rush down to return my rented lens and back home. I told myself to endure and not to sleep cos it was still daytime (it was night time at France). I still nap for 2hrs then continued cooking dinner for the little one and myself. By 11pm, I could just watched TV and reali...

Back for good

Finally touch down my homeland, I am so glad and looking so forward for it. This is not really the longest period I am away from home but somehow I look more forward to be back home. 12 hours of flight at A380 but the service was good. SIA is worthy to be named the 1st class carriage. I have a straight movie marathons on the flight cos I wannaa catch as much movies as possible which I did. I watched 72 tenants, Wolfman, Alice in Wonderland, Kichi fare (Korean), Shelock Holmes, Spy next door. The only think abt Spore, it was too warm! The temperature different was too great for me. It was so cold in France even thot it was Summer there but Spore is way too hot for Summer.
