Sleep Talk

MIL had being complained abt Janelle sleep talk. I didnt really bother cos it seldom happened back home. However we do experience it last night. Janelle was grumping but I couldnt make up what she was talking. Half throwing tantrum, half talking nonsensically. I was nearly into dreamland but awaken by her sleep talk. It came on and off, she must be dreaming and must be dreaming arguing with friends or with didi. The whole thing last for a while till I couldnt take it anymore. I gave her a smack on her butt and told her to stop it else I will have to shift her back to her room, sleeping alone. Funny part was she still can take in my instruction, while dreaming. She stop her nonsense immediately and continued her sleep till morning. When I asked her if she rbr what happened last night, she returned me with a blank face. Good for her, no point remembering unpleasant dream. As for me, I hardly catch any sleep. *yawn*

Wet Weekends

It was raining cats and dogs for the past two days. Really cant do much then, my mood was quite affected by the weather. I really hope to see the sun and bring the kids for a tan. Our intial plan for this week was to travel to Gentings with the kids and enjoyed the cool air up there but the trip was shelved as we decided to go Hong Kong on the 2nd week of Sept. Doesnt want to disappear from office for too long so I suggested to bring the kids there later. Law must have felt bad that we are going to leave Julian in Spore and he suggested we drove up to Malacca on weekend as both of us will be off on Monday. It was too last minute, we couldnt get a hotel room at all. We then decided to travel nearer to Desaru or JB but none of the hotel was available too. Very disappointing.... Law then suggested we brot the kids to Sentosa to the beach and the sand but the wet weather spoilt our plan. We have no where to go, stuck at home watching TV and seeing the kids fighting over toys. haizzzzzzzzzz...

Speech and Drama Teacher is back

I saw a new teacher in the class when I sent Janelle to her S&D class as Wednesday. Janelle wasnt really very willing to join the class as the familiar face was gone. Yes, Teacher Diana has left cos the actual S&D teacher has came back to continue the class. Fear not my ger cos the teacher looked very friendly. She led Janelle into the room and I left soon after that. When I came back to fetch her, she had joined the class and paying 100% attention to the teacher. I observed the class for a few weeks. I realised Teacher Diana althot was once the Principal of Janelle's kindergarten din really have a great chemistry with the kids. May be was the way she look or her expression, she din look very interesting to me too. However, the actual S&D teacher is more smiling and I find her able to control the kids better. I dun see kids running ard in the class anymore. Everyone is siting down listening to the teacher. Hmm... no wonder her class is always full. I have just paid for ...

Studio Ghibli

Julian has fallen in love with the Japanese animation "My Neighbour Totoro" He love it so much that he has to watch it a few times each day. Surprisingly he can follow thru-out and the storyline. However, Law spent sometime trying to source for the DVD with Mandarin translation. Fortunately we found the Studio Ghibli series at the Chinatown, a DVD shop above the CK shopping center. It comprises of 14 Studio Ghibli stories. The translation shld have done at Taiwan, very clear and good. Cant wait to show the kids.

Making of Kaya

Dun know from when, Janelle falls in love with kaya. OK must be good Kaya from Tong Heng. A bad habit that she learnt from MIL that she tend to be picky on food. Yes, eat like a princess or a noble but mummy her is none but an ordinary woman. Back to Kaya.... I decided to give myself another chance to try on make the Kaya again. Last round was a failure. It wasnt easy to make, or I shld say very difficult. As I never really success any, I didnt know which technique is the correct way to make good and no lumpy kaya. I bot a pack of coconut milk from Sheng Song while Janelle went for her ballet lesson. I started making it while the kids napped. Using 10 eggs, 400g of sugar and coconut milk from 2 coconut. I used the double boiled method as it wldnt be burnt so easily than over the fire. I whisked the mixture for an hour plus and the result dint turn out well. I left it aside to prepare dinner for the kids and my mum. My mum tasted the kaya and suggested I continued cooking again but she ...

Beijing 2008 Olympics

We all stayed at home to watch the Beijing 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremony. Infact we were very much looking forward for it. I must said it was the most spectacular Opening Ceremony I have ever seen. If anyone missed it, pls go and find out where u could download the ceremony and watched it. Never did I ever watch something so beautifully done. It make me a very proud Chinese. I stayed thru out to wait for SINGAPORE National team to appear on the screen. We nearly felt asleep or we thot we have missed it. They were the 188th team to come out. The kids stayed almost thru-out with us too. I like how it was presented when the touch was to light up the start of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Games. I found every part of the show was very well plan and done. I think the England will be very stressed to keep up the standard that China has set in all the pple heart. For the performances, we could see the passion the Chinese had in them to make the event successful. China really makes the whole chin...

Xiao Yee is 21!

We were invited to my little sister bday party held at Coasta Sand resort on Sunday. She didnt really wanted to hold any bday party but I urged her to have one cos everyone only have one 21st bday and that mark that she is an ADULT. haha.. She doesnt want a cake so Xian ordered a Agar Agar with lady smurf for her. Something very different from others 21st bday. Her friends were quite amazed when we presented the agar agar as the "cake" for the blowing candle ceremony. Popo prepared chix wings, pork chop, sotong, sting ray and mee hoon for her, while I was told to cook the Chix curry that my family claimed was very HOT and delicious. ( I cooked the curry on Julian bday and got many good comments on it.) This time, I diluted the curry a bit, give it more gravy and less creamy. We brot the kids to the pool to swim before the BBQ started. Julian was so excited when he saw the pool, he was so elated that he couldnt stop kicking when we placed him into the water. However, poor Jov...

Feel like stranger

I must have being too busy with family and work then I missed out alot of fun with my friends. Friends who I have known for years, studying and growing with me. Friends who I have known and met when I have Janelle. Friends who I have known and met when I have Julian. I probably miss alot of fun out there.

A little help means so much

We have decided this year tour venue and decided to pay NATAs a visit to see if we could get any good deal. Infact, quite a doubt cos we are going there F&E and realised travel agencies are more focus on package tour. We visited a few major players and couldnt really decided which one to chose. Then we met Edmund, forgotten that he was at Mediacorp traveling sectors and he wanted us to look around and gave him a call before we booked. He gave us a hint on which agencies were good at the place we wanna go. After comparing the prices around we found that the price could make a different of tens over $$ to hundreds. Finally we decided to settle for Nam Ho to book our airtix and accommdation. I gave Edmund a call before going to the agancy and he wanted me to meet him. He was at the booth, talking to one of the NH staffs, and he must have told he or the boss something and wanted us to continue with them. A very young chap, whispered something into the guy's ear who served us, gave ...

Brown Rice?

I started to fall in love with brown rice. I never really enjoyed it till my mum prepared it for me while I having my confinement after giving birth to Julian. However, I never really start eating brown rice after my mum left. One of the day, while digging into my kitchen cabinet, I found a box of brown rice that was left on the shelf. I decided to cook it again just for myself as Law doesnt really like having it. I also started to realise Janelle will also ask for brown rice too. Infact, brown rice is so much healthy than white rice in term of complex carbon and it make one full by consuming just a little qty. Think it is no harm incorporate some brown rice into the kids diet.
