鼠年初二

I was planning to serve ham but I didnt get to re-fridge the ham and it turns bad.  Janelle is a butter lover and see the amount of butter on her toast.  I turned the left over chicken rice that I made on the eve of CNY into delicious chicken rice flavour seafood porridge for lunch.  Re-heat the left over stew mushrooms. using whatever I had in my fridge to cook for all.  I made banana balls to bring over to mum place as we will be visiting my mum in the evening.

1st day of CNY is always going to Law's grandma place. I cooked some dumplings and making the mushroom n chicken sauce for the noodle from left over.  After all washed up, the kids take turn to collect ang bao from daddy and mummy.  Cheeky one CNY family shot Off we going to taipo house

Chinese New Year Plants

This year I got a few plant for Chinese New Year. Surprisingly feeling more relax for this Chinese New Year. I got this from Ikea and was still wondering if the plant will blossom in time for Chinese New Year. Look like I worry too much. 

Wonderful bake on weekends

Cashew Nut Sugee Biscuit. 1st time baking this and it is using ghee. It taste so good and Janelle couldnt stop eating it.  Florentine nut bites. I made the normal nuts version and another one that added with cranberries. I like the cranberries version cos it give a chewy texture and a tangy sourness to all the nuts bites. This weekends I manage to make 4 biscuits and 2 lapis. I have actually dropped a tray of baked pineapple tarts. Heartache when I see all my pineapple tarts on the floors and I have to throw all of them away. I kept buying butter because all the bakes need them. I still have 3 more lapis to make for my sister, bro, mum, myself and Law's grandma. I will closed my baking kitchen after that.  I love the layer, I realise it is ok to have some more "char" top because the char" layers enhance the lapis flavour even more s 

New style, New color

I like my last hair style but not from the same salon I visited so I get my old stylist to try to keep to it but just trim it neatly. Of course, dying my hair to cover my white hair and I wanted something different so did an underlaying orange.  No red for me, did a red last year and I feel I look like aunty. I like the neat style. May be keep my hair long after that. 

Getting ready for Rat year 2020

Taking Family care leave because I need to fetch little prince back in the evening and also give me the time to do some marketing on Friday. Luckily not too many people fighting over food in the market and I can take my time to go round to decide what I wanted to buy to store. Got a seabase tail for coming steamboat on eve of Chinese New Year. Some prawns as well. Take my time to clean up and vacuum pack all of them neatly for storing.

I was a lucky lady today. My colleague 放水 so I can manage to get a runner up for the inter PC bowling competition.  I'm so cool right. 

CNY gathering with besties at Jewel Yun Nans

CNY reunion with my beasties at Jewels. There are just too many we wanted to try and we shortlisted Yun Nans to try 1st. There was a crowd and we are early so waiting for the table we reserved.  We didn't order then set. We order a louhei so we have a heng heng rat year.  Pickled veg with pork. Very appetiting dish.  Stired fry clams. Very good quality of clams. Very juicy The famous steam chicken soup. I like the clear and light chicken soup.  过桥米线,a dish I wanted my friends to try.  Bull frog, the bull frog meat is very well done. Tender meat.  This hor fan is fantastically cooked.  Dessert time. Can't rbr what it call but this contain the filling of pickle roses. Yes, my mouth full of roses.  Corn pancake. Very deliciously made. I will try making it myself for Skyler.  Soya Bean curd. Bak kwa record of the year

I took home a total of 23 bags of bak kwa. The lady boss still have doubts how am I going to bring back so many  bag. No doubts, I made it and a total spending of $700 on bak kwa.
