Chinese Garden

Image
Our weekends are quite pack this week. Tonite we lug the kids to Chinese Garden. Seem like a "tradition" to me. I think i have being coming back to Chinese Garden almost every yr after we have kids. I dun pin high hope on the lanterns that we are going to see. They still doesnt make a WOW on me but as Janelle is at a more understandable age. It will be nice to bring her this time. At least she will rbr the trip this time. It is also a great opporunity to make it a family event to go with my sister and my mum. Here are some more interesting pictures to share. Kid need time to build up their mood. Jovan and Yee yee "I wanna be as pretty as the little Mermaid"

Chocolate Cake

It was a boring afternoon. I cooked early so the kids have early lunch and Julian napped early as he wakes up early this morning. Janelle kept showing me the cookies recipe book. She kept flipping to some of the pages and wanted me to make them for her Liang Lao Shi. I told her we made chocolate cake this time. I found a Cookies and Cakes Recipe book at Bedok Library. It has my favourite Chocolate cake, infact a few diff kinds so i decided to make one to see if the recipe really good. I modified a little and it turn out quite well. Wonderful on the tongue but not so pleasant on the eyes. WHY? The top was quite burnt. I should have shift the batter to the side so the middle batter can raise more evenly. Never lesson learnt and I will make a better one next time. I'm going to try the Mud Cake that is feature in the book.

Lanterns

Din know where to have dinner. Lawrence suggested to go Central and bring the kids to see the lanterns. The car parks ard that area were already packed. We manage to park out car at UE. We have Japanese food for dinner. Isaac recommended this Jap restaurant that located together with Meida Supermarket. The Pork cutlet really taste great and I didnt even order their prenium grade. The premium grade must really taste heavenly. I must go back and try again. Here are some photos I took.

Beach

FINALLY.... i convinced Law to bring the kids to East Coast. I always think we should have a more healthy "outing" then just loitering at the shopping malls. I did a quick marketing in the morning and head back to pack some clothes for the kids, incase they need a change after the play. It was a sunny saturday and more sunny than we expected. The sun seem to be working extremely hard on the Saturday morning. We can feel the heat at 9am. I told Law we should drive to some places of East Coast where it was not that crowded. I intended to go all the way to the Youth Sailing club but we realised the car park at the food center was pretty empty and there was a bicycle kisok there. We setup our "holding area" at the beach. This was the 1st time Julian visited the beach. I wanna see his reaction when his feet feels the sand. I always want my kids to be a more adventous but Janelle wasnt. However, i am glad that at this stage, Julian was. He should not discomfort or fear wh...

Our new Toy

We have searching for a suitable compact camera. The problem here is both of us are too technical and we tend to compact the spec and the price so we get the best value. Initially i wanted a Canon for a change. We already owned 2 Fujifilm camera but Fuji is getting better and better. The F31d is of very good review. By the time we decided to go back to F31d, it was discontinued. We read that F50d was here to replaced F31d with better feature. Law wanted a camera that take 28mm - wide angle but i feel unless u are really restraint but steps, we can simply move back 2 steps to get the angle. It has push the mega pixel to 12. WOW that was very very high...... It was a 4x jump of my current camera. So i told LAW, let go and grab it. We are now one of the happy owner of Fujifilm f50d. I have high expectation of it so dun fail me.

Munchydonut

There is a craze wave of donut out of sudden and heard from Chris that 8 Days give MunchyDonut the highest rating. Little did I know that the main branch is just ard my estate. I told Law that I must get hold of the donut today. We are there at 9pm and there arent alot of pple queuing for it. We are glad cos Law is waiting along the road. They have 19 different variety and I chosen the following. 1) Blueberry Volcano 2) O'shiok Ring 3) Strawberry Strip 4) Rainbow Choz 5) Tyhoon Oreos 6) Chezzz For $6.50. The bread is soft and there is a little crunchiness. The blueberry is ok, a little sour but not too sweet. O'shiok chocolate is not shiok enough and the chocolate still in the creamy stage. It is like the other which will harden once it cool down. Law trys the strawberry strip but he doesnt praise it so i guess it a so so standard to him. Rainbow Choz is requested by Janelle cos of the colorful sugar pearl on top and it isnt create much WOW. The shop attendant tells me the Oreo...
