Movie that worth the late night - Ip Man

We were supposed to meet Law's Poly classmate - Seaking for dinner. He wanted to pass us his wedding invitation card, but we just couldnt find a car park lot ard Orchard area. Apologically we have to cancel our meeting with him and head down to some other place for dinner instead. I told Law that I have craving for Indian food, we visited one of the Indian restaurant near to Mustafa to settle our dinner. I had a thin Malasa Thosai and Law had Chicken Curry set dinner. The thin Thosai was huge when it came, and really delicious which only cost me $3.80. The Indian staffs were very helpful and friendly and they allow me to refill my sauce after 1st round. We will definitely go back again. Since Law mentioned to watch Ip Man, we grabbed this opporunity (without kids) to watch it as we think the show may not be very suitable to bring Janelle along. Brot the 12.20am show at Leisure Park, we still have time to head home for a shower and rest before the show. It was a good show, Donnie Ye...

Post Xmas shopping

Isetan is having a post Xmas shopping. After sending the kids to Childcare, I head down to Orchard to meet my sister. I was early as we arranged to meet her at 10am, so I find a place for breakfast. WOW, the Q into Isetan was really long. It went all the way to International plaza. My collick smsed me and told me she was already inside Isetan. I bet she must have reached there very early for the sale. Actually, we didnt Q very long to enter the shopping mall. Just abt 10min of Q. The management was very efficient, they try to allow as many customers to enter as possible and at the same time not over-crowded the mall. We went to the kids section 1st, both of us need to get new set of bottles for the kids then we tried to look for pants for the boys. Unfortunately, not much to chose from, next we grab a PJ for each kids. We then proceed to the men department then the ladies department for clothes. I got a top from Glitter and sister a top from Iora. Wanted to get a bag and a pair of shoe...

Ho Ho Ho... Santa Coming to Town

Santa Claus always come with Xmas presents but who are the Santa for the kids? Parents! How about me? Daddy! Yes, Law got me a big present this year. He got me a Canon 1000D DSLR on the Xmas day itself. Groovy! Cant wait to get my hands on it. I think I am quite different from others. Other would like Jewellery and branded bag but I always end up with gadget. Either electronic gadget or Kitchen gadget but I love it. So I guess my friends wun be seeing me taking Coach, Kate Spade, LV or Gucci bag but U will see me cooking, taking and posting lot of photos online. As for the kids, oh they are the fortuante one. I wondered who has started Julian with Transformer and his signature song "Transformer, all that meets the eye." is so much clearer than anything he says. So, no doubts that he - at the tender age of 2.5yo has a small collection of Transformer. Just Bumble Bee - he owns 4 different models either from BIL or my future SIL and of course daddy who is very encouragly getting...

Pre-Christmas Celebration

Here we mark the date to gather together before the Chinese New Year. I should be expecting full force this year as my brother who always "Fly Kite" decided to land his kite and join us this year. Latest new from my sisters - he got us pressie waiting to be exchange tonight. That is really a surprise to us. SO, I have to rush for last min Xmas shopping again. Instead of getting just for my brother, I went to get for all the guys - Law, BIL, Brother & my sister bf. Yes, initial plan - no pressie for the guys as i thot they wun be bothered. Anyway, simple Xmas gift just to let everyone happy. Of course the happiest are always the kids, there are candy, food, company and pressies. In-order not to arouse too much curiosity of Janelle, I gift-wrapped all the presents way before hand. Althot she managed to find it but I refused to tell her which was her present, if not she will tend to peep into them. What I got for them? An Old Navy Bag for my mum. An Espirit top for my sister...

冬至

Image
We just spent our 冬至 at my mum place. Mum called to check on Janelle injury and she asked all of us to join her on Sunday for 冬至. So what is 冬至 (Dong Zhi)? Dong Zhi is the thanksgiving of the Chinese calendar. "Dong Zhi" literally means "arrival of winter". Coinciding with the winter solstice, it is an occasion for the family to get together to celebrate the good year they have had. Tang Yuan (ÌÀÔ²) is cooked and eaten to symbolise unity and harmony within the family. Dong Zhi occurs 6 weeks before Chinese New Year and would normally fall between 21st Dec and 23rd Dec. ORIGIN Winter solstice signifies the beginning of winter. The sun is at the Tropic of Capricorn and this results in the longest night of the year for those living in the northern hemisphere. The festival began as a farmer's festival to celebrate year-end harvest. CELEBRATION Dong Zhi is a time for family reunion. Tang Yuan, sweet soup of glutinuous rice flour balls, is indispensible during this fe...

Chow Yi and Ryan Birthday Party at Explorer Kids

We were invited to Chow Yi and Ryan bday party at Explorer kids at Downtown East. It was really a great place for the kids. Spacious and alot of stations the kids could explored and burnt their energy. We were the 1st few family that arrived, I told Janelle who were the bday boys as the I dun think she will remember who is Chow Yi and Ryan now. Infact, I was quite surprised she could clicked with Chow Yi pretty fast. Soon I saw Janelle following Chow Yi to each of the station and Julian will tagged along with them. Strangely, Janelle seemed to get along faster with the boys then the girls. Next things I knew, she was running along with Joshua going round the stations again. I followed Julian into the big maze and sprained my wrist while sliding down the slide. *ouch*. I cant squeeze my fist now. Chow Yi was a Transformer fan, and got a Transformer logo Cake which was very attractive to Julian. He will stayed by the side of the cake all the time. The party ended with last round of stati...

Home Accident

Image
We were all in KKH till 11:30pm last night. What happen? Janelle got a mazzive bleed after she knock her at the metal object behind the sofa. This was wat happened, infact I was not around, I went to get dinner for myself and my MIL. The moment I stepped out of the lift, I saw my gate open and Julian was standing outside the door, holding on to the Spider storybook. I wondered why was it opened, when I proceed I saw my MIL holding on to Janelle head, telling me that Janelle was bleeding profusely. I was shocked, I told my MIL to come into the house. I told her we need to go to KKH immediately. Rushing back to the room, I grabbed a towel and told MIL to place it at the back of Janelle head while I get her BC. MIL went to get help her friend who was also happen to be our neighbour. He gave us a lift to KKH, in the fastest speed he could drive. I never like to go KKH, hearing all the crowd and the long wait but that is the nearest to our place. I requested the nurse to attend to Janelle 1...

Ding Dong Bell.....Ringing all the way.............

Dec is already here and that meant Xmas is round the corner. Eversince I married and with kids, Xmas is very meaningful to the family. It is a festival to care, share and to give other joys. Way before Dec, I have told my sisters, mum and Law that the Xmas celebration will be held at our place. My mum will be cooking her best dish - Sweet & sour Fish Maw and sea cucumber soup for us. I will be baking the pork, my sister will be making a spagetti dish and I have told my youngest sister to get us a Ham and a log cake. Seem not much? Yes, cos I have not thot of wat other I wanted to cook. Doesnt seem to have a poutry, hmmm make me bake a chicken or order a small turkey for a change. Think I need to use my oven for my pork. Beside food, there must be gift exchange. Janelle is very excited, I has been trying my best to hide all the present or gift wrap them so she has no idea what she will be getting. Now I left with my youngest sister pressie and a pressie for Law. Still thinking shld ...

How to celebrate Janelle Bday?

Janelle 5th Bday is coming, we thot of doing something big for her this time but both of us are very busy with work, settling them into new childcare and the new lifestyle routine. I was suggesting MacDonald party but found that it could be quite boring so decided to forgo this. Btw, we dun have time to book any chalet or do much now so I told Law that we postponed the big celebration to her 6th Bday. Hoping we all have more time to plan by then. So to scale down, I just need to source for suitable cakes for the celebration on 4th or 10th and 8th where Janelle will get to blow her bday candles with all her friends at the CC.

My Pain & My Grooming

While chewing on my dinner last nite, I experienced a sharp pain. The pain was really terrible that I have to pop two panadol once I reached MIL's place. Something I hope I could ignore but I dun think so now. Luckily the pain subsided and I could go to bed peacefully but I dun think it will be a good idea to leave it alone. I make my way to the dental clinic after sending the kids to CC and my breakfast. I was told there wasnt any slot in the moring but if the dentist was early I could see him. But I was luckily, someone cancelled the morning appointment and the dentist came just in time to attend to me. The temporary filling at one of my molar has dropped off and was exposed. The food got into it and causing the pain, of course that is not really the reason. My root nerves of the molar was infected. I need to go thru a root canal extraction. I did it once many years back costing me hundreds of dollar. I very unwilling to spend such $$ again but I dun think I could avoid. Anyone i...

X-stitch

I didnt take much effort to deco our house. Mainly becos I am too lazy, not lazy to deco the place but to clean up the dust that will gather on the deco. It doesnt get any better when we have Janelle and Julian. We dun know wat will have to the deco too. So the house is pretty bare unless on Xmas or Chinese New year. Infact, I have bot many photo frames from Ikea, thinking to select some nice photos to be developed and frame up but I keep delaying and delaying so nothing was done again. Last week, I walked into a Craft shop and decided that I could do some cross stitch and pin up the work in the kids room. There was much selection and I dun want to be too ambitious to get something too complication. I scared my passion would only last me 3 mins. I spotted a kitty pattern of " I see no evil, Hear no evil and speak no evil". I found it rather cute, as the kids love kitty and I think they will like it. Of course, the most excited person is always Janelle, it was somthing rather ...

Marina Barrage

Image
My collick - CK suggested a photo taking session at the new hideout - Marina Barrage on Satursday. It is also a good chance to bring the kids there for some "Work out"! Thanks God that Law is not working that day so I dun have to worry abt transportation. The sky was gloomy. It wasnt a very good day to take nice photos but it was cooling to just go out for a chill. Marina Barrage is really a nice place but there was still some construction going on the perimeter for Barrage. There was an open field on top of the Barrage building. Cool design and we saw families bringing kids, grandparents and even holding picnic there. Oh yes, I must rbr to bring along my kite next round. We met up with CK and Edwin, CK took some pictures for the kids. Althot there were only two but it was very well taken. I requested for the original so I can blow it and frame it up in our living hall.

Ouch Ouch my foot.

Image
For months I have this bad pain on my sole and it was something that my mum suffered too. I have no idea what was it nor did i really bother it. I just went for acupunture and hoping it will cure it or go away. Yes, it did help a bit but soon it came back. Today, I saw my poly-fren posted something on her facebook. She was kind enough to post a link to explain more on it. It was then I realised I have the same problem like her. I have Plantar Fasciitis . What is Plantar Fasciitis ? What is Plantar fasciitis? Plantar fasciitis means inflammation of the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is a strong band of tissue (similar to a ligament) that stretches from the heel to the middle bones of the foot. It supports the arch of the foot. Small injuries to the plantar fascia can cause inflammation and symptoms. The injury is usually near to where it attaches to the heel bone. Yes, yes... finally I found a name to it. What are the symptoms of plantar fasciitis? Pain is the main symptom. This can...

Toilet-training Julian

I never wanted to rush Julian to be toilet-trained. Ever since I have experienced to toilet-trained Janelle. I thot there was no rush, the kid will eventually told us they do not want diapers, understood their urge and proceed to toilet to complete the biz. Well, due to the childcare centre entrance requirement, they hope the child is toilet-trained but they were nice to help us to train Julian for us. 1st week of school, Julian poo on his diaper. Althot he could tell us at home but he didnt notify the teacher. We explained that he was still unfamiliar with them, gave him some periods and he will be able to articulate his need to them. MIL enforced the toilet-training program back home. She let Julian went diaper free at home, bringing him to his potty every 15 - 20 mins , the same way we trained Janelle. On the 2 nd week, we realised Julian's only used 2 diapers in the center. Back home, he was able to tell MIL when he needed to visit the toilet. On the 3rd week, the accident ...

Goodbye NisSunny

Image
It is time to say goodbye to our faithful "Ah Mah" who has being serving us faithfully almost everyday for the past 3yrs (coming to 4th). We enjoyed the wonderful ride we had with u and the journey we has been thru. Apologised that the kids has dirty ur "carpet" and seat sometime as they love the comfort of munching their food during the ride. You had protected the family well, we still safe and sound during the accident. I hope u are satisfy with us, as Lawrence will make sure u get a good tyre althot he only bring you for a quick shower and sent you for polished once a year. But the time has come and we had decided that you will be in great service to other people outside the world (out of singapore). You will get to see a bigger world out there and we hope the new owner will treasure you just as we did (and he gives you more bath n polish). We will rbr that U are the 1st car we own Nissan Sunny.....
Dear Julian, You give mummy and daddy a geat relief this morning. I reminded you to greet your teachers when you reached school. You and jie jie sat quietly at the back seat waiting to reach the destination. Mummy thought that I got to leave you with teacher while you bawl for us. I thought you will hanged yourself on me and refused to let me go. BUT you didnt. You reached the school, knowing where to place your shoes, following the morning routine and even greeted the teachers. You bided goodbye with mummy & daddy. Yes, no bawling and tears. Althought I could sense that you are going to tear soon. We could hear your voice trembling when you said bye to us but you never cried. Mummy and daddy are so proud of you. We Love You.

My kitchen gadget

Since Law like electronic gadget then I like Kitchen gadget. I just got myself a blender and yes I'm up to something.

Weekends

Image
The kids n I are fortuante this month of November as Law doesnt need to work on weekends. Finally, the days has come that his two new colleagues could help out in the shifts. Gone the days where he need to do weekends and weekdays shift, that was terrible for everyone of us but we still manage to pull thru. Unfortunately, one of his "customer" called him to help him in his computer. He din really wanna take up this extra biz anymore but just couldnt reject them. He never good in rejecting pple. Haiyah, one big good man. I must count blessing for married a kind man like him. haha. After fetching us to and from the Very hungry caterpillar show, he went off to fixed the computer but was told that the OS crashed and he needed to bring it back to fix. Luckily he didnt forget his promises to bring us to Liang Court for dinner. There was a massive jam along the way to Liang court car park. We got to park our car at UE2 and walk to Liang court. WOW, Liang Court really had a transform...

Disney Princess - Do u want to be one too?

Image
Disney never fail to dig out $$ from parents pockets. Beside the annual Disney on Ice, they have Disney Princess this year. As the theme imply, I dun see the need to bring Julian along. We reached there just in time. I was really hungry as I rushed out without having my dinner. There were alot of Disney characters on displayed for sale at the North entrance. I brot a snack and a roasted chix sandwich to feast during the show. Luckily they allow us to bring in food. The show was very well made, songs and dance and storyline which was squeeze into 1.5hrs. Our seat were quite good, clear but not for taking pictures... I was glad Janelle enjoyed the show and I got her a Belle cup for behaving well this weekend.

A Very Very hungry Caterpillar show

Image
I am bringing the kids to watch The very very hungry caterpillar, heard so much abt the author thus wanna give the children a chance to expose more to drama and art. Xian just had a minor surgery to remove a lump in her breast so she still need to have more rest. She asked Song Kwee to bring Jovan along. We met 9:45am at Funan MacDonald for breakfast. Jovan behaved so well that day, may be becos it wasnt Xian who brot her. Shld encourage Song Kwee to bring Jovan out more often. I also agreed with him that Jovan need to be more independent, sending him to childcare is gd idea. We were just in time, Ethel and her kids were already seated. The show started on the dot! The puppets were great! They were so much better than the Rainbow Fish production but the story was kind of slow. That was what Janelle commented, she hoped it will goes faster. Yes I do agree with her, may be this was not the right kind of show for their age anymore. 1st story, we were waiting for the cloud to ...
