Freeze, Squeeze, Enjoy!  It is a cool product and after eyeing for months, we got it yesterday. Janelle tried it out after keeping it frozen for 6 hours. We had homemade slurpy like 7-11 but the downside was we probably can only make 1 cup after 6 hours. Still very cool!!!!

This is one of the item that I wanted Law to help me to get when he is in Seoul but hubby overlooked it and he felt so bad that he didnt notice that. I told him it was ok, I will get one to try out locally and if he still got the chance to visit Seoul again he will refill for me. Not sure if this is going to work for me, it works like BB cream with SPF 50 coverage. Like a simple cover up too. It has a cooling sensation after applying it and the beautician claim it will not oxidize much. Really? We shall see then, it cost $56 with additional refill so let see how long does one last me. I hope it will not give me any skin out break.

Whats am I cooking with these?? In my last blog entry, I wrote about the pasta sauce and I recommended two brands in the market which I find quite good. My Julian love Pomodoro which only consist of vegetable pasta sauce for his noodles so I usually use the most basic sauce to spin it off with other personal creation. Ragu is not the cheapest pasta sauce you will find in the supermarket but price you pay come with a big jar so still worth it comparing with Barilla.  However, I still prefer to use Barilla range of pasta cos the cooking time is shorter and the paste taste better.  Using the vege Ragu base sauce, I added the minced chicken to create the chicken bolognese for the kids.  If you do not fancy frozen hotdog then try 

How much does a child need for a meal?? My kids??? A main dish, a bowl of salad, a bowl of mushroom soup and a 7" pizza.

My kids love pasta and it is one of the quick and easy meal to prepare to cure their hunger and Law will avoid pasta cos he had enough of lousy pasta while eating out. NOT MY PASTA. LOL. So pasta sauce is one that im constantly looking out for. There are so many brands in the market. Earlier years brands Leggo's, Prego were quick popular then came Barilla and Ragu. So far I find Barilla and Ragu rich and thick and not sourish and I dun need anything more to enhance the taste. They are so good that I will stick to them now.

I have waited for the craze to die down and not need to queue long for a table. We entered on the day they introduced a new menu. Lucky?? Always love the chef and his dishes (visually). I tried making one of the brownie and it was fantastically heavenly. Here we are... Then came the dishes. I order the Rump steak (I have craving for steak that night and looking across the next table, the serving was enough and it looked good). Unfortunately, the dish was sold out so I took the next alternative- the crab spaghettin, Law ordered the roasted chicken set and we both shared a Apple-slaw. So was it good? It was a bit disappointing, I felt like eating and paying for the brand and not the dishes. The consoling dish is the Apple-slaw which was quite refreshing.  My crab spaghettin was rather dry, the sauce was just NICE enough for that plate and the flavour is nothing to shout about. Overwork during holiday? Post holiday tire-ness. Holiday is a happy but unpacking and washing wasnt. We even skip the sunday morning class cos all are way too tired. I developed into a headache and bodyache after that.  I decided to try cooking pumpkin porridge, unfortunate I cannot mimic the real korean pumpkin porridge. 

Before we head home, there will be a rest point for drink and dinner. Here we are. Matang Seafood porriage. Infact this is our 1st time trying out this restaurant cos the content in the claypot looks yumilicious.  We ordered two claypots, porridge and bee hoon. This is the bee hoon claypot which I chose fishball, sliced fish and meatball for the kids.  Seafood porridge for the adults that has clams, squids, sliced fish and prawn. You can even chose crab too but I am not too comfortable with the crab market rate they are going to charge me.  We ordered the portion for 3 persons and it was quite big.  Ordered another plate of steam clam or lala Here were all our food.  Total cost of the meal = RM 166 that included the drink. May be expansive for some which I think yes a bit but we are having seafood so quite expected. 

On the last day morning in Melaka, we all agreed that we cannot tolerant with Peranakan food anymore. We need some normal food for breakfast. Something like Wanton mee or minced pork noodles and the nearest we can find and also feature somewhere was this 大姑 wanton noodles. We happily sit down, order our food and drinks. The noodles was ok, the soup was bland but we can taste it was chicken soup cos we saw one chicken in the owner soup pot. The wanton is well marinated so even if the soup is bland the wantons help a bit.  After the breakfast, we rush back to do our last packing and shower the kids for our journey home. 

Holiday is about relax and enjoying food. This morning we venture into the same satay celur area for dim sum. It is not the most that fantastic dim sum we had. Because the bao skin stick onto our teeth and the lou mai kai is not flavorful to me but the siew mai and fried carrot cake is good thot the kids still prefer the spore black sauce version. We dont just stop here. It will be waste not to try Nonya kueh in Melaka and the famous kueh will be the Baba Charlie stall. It is not really a stall, more like his house with a big kitchen preparing all the kueh. We see many of his old customers streaming into the house. He has a small room that displayed all the kuehs his staffs have made in the morning.  Look at the variety of kuehs you can find here and pampered of choice.  They not only selling kuehs but belachan, cincalok, belacham chili, gula melaka, the dried blue flower for cooking. Person like me who likes to cook will not miss out getting cooking ingred...

The break is finally here. As usual I will asked my sister if she wanted to go with me. I booked a homestay at Melake, it consist of 4 rooms and just nice for a family of 2 like us. The house is very well keep and they give us towel, handmade soap, toothbrush and moisturer. Just like we staying in a hotel only no daily room cleaning service.  Baby Nelicia is very happy roaming from rooms to rooms and checking out what jie jie Janelle and the 2 kor kor are doing. We then find a Peranakan restaurant for dinner. How can we not try a true peranakan food if we r here but actually I came a few times and 1st time trying it. We went Nonya Makko but the dishes are quite salty so we concluded tat Peranakan food r either salty or spicy. After dinner we had a walk at the Mahkota Parade and Pahlawan shoppibg mall. We found it big n spacious and nothing. Tmr we will venture the mall beside Hatten Hotel. There is another food we wanted to try all time but no chance cos kids do noy take...

Daddy wants the kids to show casing the beautiful bag he got for them during his trip. He is more eager to get them carry the bags for their classes. Very proud of his loots from Korea.
