Korean lunchie

Image
Where for lunch? A very difficult qns to answer come 11am on weekday. Xiao Hwee mentioned about the Korean restaurant ard Bukit Timah area, we said let go and give it a try! Set lunch is only $8, CHEAP! and come with bigger surprised of 12 side dishes! WOW. The side dishes are so nice that I thot I can forgo my main dish. We also ordered a Ginseng Chicken soup but it was not as fantastic as we thot, the soup did not have any Ginseng taste at all. Nevertheless the side dishes have already made me a happy person. Not only that they are feature in my favourite local makan ieat blog and other makan expert blog. Worth a try! Kim's Family Korean Restaurant 17 Lorong Kilat #01-06 Singapore 598139 Tel: 64650535 I am going to bring Law there for a treat. I treat he pay! hohoho...

Market Experiences

Image
Have you being to market? I didnt mean Supermarket, I mean Singapore market or some pple call it wet market. I am also fascinated by market, and still remember my mum bringing me to market when I was very young. Yes, this place is part of my life, some places that you have to go and get ur raw material to cook meals for your family. Be it that ur wore diamond or taking a LV or Gucci bag, no body will look down on you even if you go to market with slipper, pyjamas, marketing basket and messy hair. Why a topic on market? My MIL is a very exquisite person, in a sense that she always aim for the better if not the best, especially food. Be it pork, chicken, rice, seafood or vegetable. On herself to her kids and all the way to the grandchildren. She wants her kids, grandchildren to even her guests to have the best. With that, she will go around to look for the better if not the best, even on market. We are always on topics like fish, vege, meat 家常话题 from there she will advise on which stalls...

My new Camera Bag

I just went to collect my Kata Camera Bag. Thanks to Stanley for helping me to get the bag before he left the company. It was a great buy and great bag! I nearly got a 2nd hand similar bag at Clubsnap forum, luckily that I asked Stanley abt it and manage to get it cheaper than 2nd hand price. Retail price of the bag is abt 50% more than what I am paying. He even reminded me to register myself on the Kata website to get my lifetime warrenty. WOW.... What more can I asked for? I am ready for my trip!!!!

My Camera Bag

I have being looking for a camera bag for sometime. Chance upon Kata Camera bags which was introduced by my poly classmate. The bag is good in term of functionality and look. I need something that I can carry as backpack to balance the load between my shoulder and also something that I can sling across my body for a a quick access to my equipement. There are many camera bag in the market but I see stars going thru so many of them. The more popular brands in Spore are Lowepro, crumpler and Kata, I prefer Kata design. Was thinking to get a 2nd hand camera from Clubsnap for my trip but the seller refused to lower any further. Decided to ask my poly classmate if he has any good deal for the bag and to my surprised, the price he quote me is cheaper than the 2nd price at the forum. Law asked me to order and he is going to pay for it. 谢谢老公 Hurray!!!!

Happy Night.

Supposed to bring my xiao yee and cousin hao for dinner but mum said she brot back some left over food from her school buffet and suggested to postponed the dinner to another night. I suggested to Law to bring the kids to visit my xiao yee who pull up at my mum place. The kids are happy to see their uncle hao, cousin hao commented that Julian had grown much taller and darker. Janelle is so much fitter and flesher. hahaha.. It was such a great time chatting with xiao yee and cousin hao scored very well for his FORM 4 examination. For his 12 subjects, he scored a combination of A+, A- and A. I said he had the best result in the entired families so far and I will reward him with good meal for getting such a good result. Mary just came back from her trip, she got Julian another polo ralph sweater which was so nice and smart. Julian still did not have the change to wear the last pull over that she got for him. Beside the gift for the kids, she also got LongChamp Les Pliages and Sk2 set for ...

Gotcha!

Law likes to shop for our family car, he like to beautify it with new rim, new tyre, new curtains, adding in extenal speedometer, temp gauge etc etc. I never know there are so many things you can get for a car till we owned one. I am ok with it since women like to shop for bags, shoes, clothes, jewellery and men like gadget, cars, etc. However I will still nag at him when he modified the car and the funniest part is he always thot I will never spot it. Ironically, the moment I sit in the car, I am able to spot the differences instantly. Just last Sat, he bot something for the car again but he refused to tell me what was it. He sweared that I will never be able to spot it. *ke ke ke* So I bet with him, if I am able to find out what he had added or changed he will have to give me a big treat. He gave me a very confident smile and said "No Problem." The moment I sat into the car I will looking ard for new changes. Janelle pop her head to the front and asked "Mummy, what is ...

INTERVIEWER: Oh, well I'll be brief. First of all, do you work? MOTHER: Of course I do. INTERVIEWER: Great! What is your occupation? MOTHER: I'm a mother. INTERVIEWER: Oh. Duty Roster

Eversince Law working in Turf Club, he will passed me his Duty Roster for the next month so I can plan my weekends with the kids. While he is needed at work, I wun get any family transport unless my IL or BIL willing to give us a lift. That is why Law has being asking me to get a driving license but he needed the car to travel to work. I wun have the chance to drive on weekends anyway. May duty roster is out, and only one weekend he will be at work, still not bad.

Yee Yee or Tai Yee Yee

Image
We went to pray Law's grandfather this afternoon. It was a praying meant for Qing Ming and Law wanted to bring the kids along. Laid out the fruits, vegetarian beehoon, water on the offering table for grandfather. The usual ritual, will called grandfather to have enjoyed our offering. We waited a while and ensured grandfather finished the offering before we kept everything. As a respect, we will "tell" grandfather that we are leaving. Then something happens...... Law: Ok, lets tell great grandpa we are going off. Janelle: Tai Yee Yee, Ni chi bao le na wo meng yao hui jie le. Julian: Yee Yee, bye bye... Law: Bu shi Yee Yee, shi tai yee yee. Julian: Yee Yee lah, wo meng hui jia lor. Law: Tai yee yee, bu shi yee yee Julian: Yee yee..... Wondering if father in law's eye is twigging or his ear is itchy that moment. muhahaha...

Our Sunday dinner

Image
I have craving for home-cooked food so I dropped by parkway for fish, and ingredient for soup while the kids are still having lesson. This is Sichuan Vegetable. I always have one or two to standby in my fridge Adding in canned mushroom and carrot into the soup My favourite soup pot, Tanyu pot but I broke the lid accidentally and now I can only subsitute it with my other lid. This is the soup for the dinner. Can you spot the ingredient I use? I dun know what name to call it. It has Sichuan vege, carrot, mushroom and tomatoes. No pork only chicken bones. I used 4 pieces chickens bone for the soup. The bone only cost me $2.65 at cold storage. Best for pple like use who doesnt really take the meat from the soup. I removed some meat from the chicken. Added the chicken meat to the soup after cooking. Potate and fresh white mushroom is another dishes Law and the kids like. Let pan-fried the potatoes for a while When the potatoes is brown, add in the chopped onion (I am using 1 onion)...

Toys & Transformer Again

Image
Law never feels the pinch to buy any toys for Julian but I feel the pain to keep the toys for him. While I brot Janelle for the crosstalk show, the father and son went shopping at Marina Square. I should have lay down my condition before I left Julian with daddy. We are always on the "You can see and touch but no buy" term. With Law, this will be swept into the shopping mall rubbish bin immediately.

Eggcurb

Image
Michelle was telling us about a food spree one day, she was asking if anyone had tried the eggcurb from Taiwan. Someone was selling it at the forum and it was selling like hot cake. Serena said she tried before and it was REALLY GOOD. So all of us went to get at least 1 tub to try. My collection was on Thursday after work, there was a heavy downpour before that and the seller's husband was late and I met another mummy who ordered the same thing as well. I was really excited but got an sms from the seller to chill the eggcurb for 12hrs before consuming cos her hubby got caught in the jam so it was no longer chill. I was disappointed but decided to wait for next day to try it. The 1st thing we set out foot into the house was to take out the eggcurb and let the kids try. I thot it will be as soft as soya beancurd but it was more like egg jelly to me. We tasted except hubby, and none of us really wanted to try the 2nd bowl. I guessed we are not quite used to the egg taste afterall. Hai...

Sorry Grandma.

Image
Mum has being reminding us on grandma bday at the beginning for the year as all of us will return to Sitiawan from different part of Malaysia AND Singapore so the date is quite important. I rbr we shifted the date last year to accommodate my cousin as he couldn't make it. Relatives have set the date to be at the Vesek day weekend, and it happens to be the busiest moment of my project due to some delay and I have to be ard. I thot since I couldn't go Malaysia we probably able to attend Fumin wedding. However, I just got a notice that I have some work commitment that weekend and I am going to miss both event. The kids would miss great grandma and the fun to be with the cousins. Haizzzz... the most urgent tasks are to plan and get the project to get going while I am missing. There will be alot of briefing to do.

Chinese Cross talk show for kids

Image
I was intended to see if there is any good show to watch with Law over sistic when I chanced upon this Chinese Cross Talk show for kids. I believe it will be very interesting and help to promote Chinese learning to Janelle. Since the show is not meant for kids below 5yo, I only bring Janelle along. Well, I guess it was a overdue date for me and Janelle. This is the 3nd times Janelle attending a show at Victoria Theatre. Still remember we were there for SSO concert for kids and Hungry Caterpillar show. I was right, the show was great, the little kids are so good at it. I truely enjoyed the show very much. Janelle said it was funny, infact one must really pay lot of attention to the performance else you really cant catch what they are saying. I am bringing the kids back for SCO concert again, comparing to SSO, it is more interesting and less crowded.

Food & Hotel Asia 2010. Here I come...

My Xiao Yee is coming to Singapore this coming Sunday, together with cousin Hao and my uncle this round. Uncle is coming over to attend FOOD and HOTEL ASIA 2010. My uncle is dealing with baking raw material in Malaysia, he used to be a pastry chef himself and owned a cake shop back in Sitiawan. Now he is a Sale Manager in KL dealing with the similar trade and because of him I got a few packets of muffin remix manufacture by this company. This year, I request Uncle to see if possible to let me attend this trade fair. Just heard from mum that he got 10 extra tickets for whoever wanna go. Yippy. I cant wait, and will have to take half or full day leave to visit the fair. Well the fair cost $80 per entry and it is only meant for trade professional. What am I going in there for? Who knows I may switch trade in near future... Lalalala...

Bundle of joy

Image
Joe and Giselle just announced that they are expecting a little one coming in Oct and just read Ashley blog on her joyous news, to double confirm I emailed her again. I'm feeling so happy for the family and Alexis. The little boy is becoming a big brother soon. As for Joe & Giselle, they are busy settling their customary which they did not expect to be so early. I am still happy for them, baby should only add joy to a family. Whenever I heard of such good news, I feel certain emptiness in me. May be I still hope I am the one pregnant, getting pregnant is such a wonderful experience. Life is so amazing, from a tiny dot to a baby and both of my kids can talk and run now. Always wonder how Janelle would look like when she was in my tummy. Now everyone is telling me tat she is a replicate of me when I was a little girl, especially my cousin. She could tell me how much Janelle looked like me. I could only compare her with my childhood photos. Now I do hope my sister will decide to t...

Weekend with DRAGONS.

Image
Was thinking to bring Julian for a movie, the last movie we brot him to was Transformer 2. Surprised me that he still remembered, and it was not quite possible to squeeze any time after work, it will just ended up too late. So I discussed with Janelle if we could just skipped one swimming lesson on Saturday for the sake of Julian. She agreed and I sms Jasmine in case Joel will be looking forward for Janelle at the pool. Jasmine replied that Joel was down with cough too, and coincidentally the weather was bad on Saturday that made me felt less guilty. I knew watching a movie was not going to be cheap over the weekend but i didnt know 3D movie was so expansive thot and each tic cost me $14. I thot I could just looked for some offer for credit card or package but they did not apply on 3D movie. Nah.... Look like I just have to fork out this $$ then. This was a hot selling movie, by the time I login to book, there wasnt any good center seat left, so I booked the seat on the left row. I tol...

I am so tired.

"I am so tired." This is what I heard for the past few mornings from Julian boy. It is not hard to find out the reason for the complaints in the morning too. He slept late, not that I didnt make them sleep early. He just wun go to dreamland before 11pm these nights. Every 15 mins, I have to knock on the kids bedroom to remind them to sleep. Some nights, I have to flash my cane to warn them that I am really serious about it. May be if I sleep with them, they will doze off soon. That also mean my sleep training is going down the drain. Well, may be some soft music could help them to sleep. Hmmm... That give me a good reason to get a docking unit in the kids room.

Migration

There will be migration for my blog soon. My blog will be upgraded from UNCLASSIFIED to RESTRICTED and CONFIDENTIAL or even SECRET.
