A farewell lunch plus Lou hei with Angeline. We went whampokeng steamboat fish restaurant at balestier rd. I like the fried sotong most. The steamboat fish was not the best I had tried. Overall still worth going plus I ate so full.

It is a yearly affair we will pay our belovable secondary teachers a visit. Here is my English n History teacher that taught me when I was in Sec 3 & 4. How I wish I could stay longer to talk to her. She is still teaching in our old secondary school - Bedok South. Not to forgot my very very best secondary school pals that we stick together for more than 20 years and specially to mention all the supporting spouses that joined us these years.

I have craving for Korean food so I did a search for good Korean restaurant and ended up with Kim n next Togi. So I msg hubby and told him about it. We met at Chinatown to avoid jam from my office. It was indeed a small restaurant but th place was nearly full. We came early n see only a few table left. I browsed thru the menu, not as much selection as Kim. I chosed ginseng chicken while Law ordered the bean paste soup. My ginseng soup is good with strong ginseng taste. Hubby's soup although small taste great. There are only 5 sides dishes but they are enough for us we even asked for 2nd helping. We love the mash potatoes and Law was asking if I could figured out how it was done. What is inside my Ginseng Chicken? Very nice mash potatoes side dishes Law ordered the spicy beanpaste soup. My Ginseng Chicken soup, althot spring chicken but I still cannot finish alone. Spicy ikan bilis side dish. I find it too salty. The korean fish cake is nice A general view of all the side dishes.

I wanted to blog this down before I forgotten it. We were on our way home from harbourfront and since there was a circle line going home I din think much n led the kids to the platform n board the train. However, I felt something was not right. I checked the route n realised we probably take much longer to reach the destination if we took circle line all the way. Just suggested that we dropped on the next station took the train back to harbourfront n route back to dhoby ghaut then circle line which save us from make a big loop. I was hesitating if we should do that but my quick minded girl talked me over n we hopped off the train on the next stop n took the other route. Her discussion show great leadership in our daily life. Well done sweet heart

Hubby just signed the whole family up for SAFRA membership so we can make use of the facilities. Of course, there is a purpose for this too.

Let me introduce a beautiful lady in my house who is giving us joy these day. Her name in dialect is call: Ms Narcissus and has a Chinese name call "水仙", if you cannot remember all the other name try her christian (not sure if she baptised / Ang Mo name "Daffodil" Not to sure how long she is going to stay with us but we dun mind provided free shelter, water and food to her as long as she will continue to greet us with her "yellow smiling face". Though I understand she cant be always smilling broadly but do wish she doesnt just enjoy Chinese New Year and sleep throughout the rest of the year.

Despite the accident, we still get some happy moment. I was at home whole dayn I only realised n notice the flower blosoom in the evening. Hope to see more tmr.

Although my hurt hand, i am still glad to present the dishes I actually prepared for my m, sisters n my family on 2nd day of CNY. Stir fry leeks with my left over roasted pork Prawn paste chicken Sweet and sour pork Scallop and asparague. I got the Japanese frozen scallop from NTUC fairprice. Defroze it, sock them in salty water aith a few slices of ginger to get ride of the frozen taste. I pouched the scallop till half cooked before I stir fry it again with garlic and ginger.

We supposed to go visit Law's second uncle house for a short visit. We were the 1st to reach n we stayed for a short while before we head down to Sentosa for the flower show. Unfortunately the kids did not know how to appreciate it at all. I was expecting my mother n sisters over for a dinner. Everything was fine till I dropped my big bowl of hot lotus soup n alerts the everyone. I cut n scald my fingers n hubby had to rest me to the nearest clinic for treatment. The doctor said nothing serious but I was giving Tetanus injection for any possible infection. Not only that I was given antibiotic to complete. My hand after the accident. My pinky and 2nd last finger were painful and have to be on cold compress for a while. Little pinky hurt the most. Still bleeding the next day. The wound is on the way to healing. 1st finger got a small cut but was told not to touch water. All the 1st Aid hubby rushed to get from Mustafa Shopping center on the late night.

Many events happened on 2nd day of CNY. 1stly, I brot the kids to Law's 二舅 house for CNY visitation. I reached there just before 12noon and we were the 1st to reach. OK it is quite pai seh to reach so early and seeing them still busy preparing for lunch. Oops forgot about the background story of the visitation. Well, since when - not too sure when actually but many years back either before I got married or after the year Janelle was borned. 二舅 had started to invite families to his house on the 2nd day or the CNY weekend for a gathering. Since he is a hawker selling chicken rice at Chin Bee Hawker center, he is quite good with cooking and so are his wife. We always visit his stall when we go Chin Bee Hawker and will end up having free meal provided by him. I still rbr there was a year where I presented my roasted pork during CNY. He actually gave me some tips to make my roasted pork better, it is a pity that his children did not learn any skill from the couples. As for his wife, she...

Lilian mentioned a few times on this Peng Cai but I never really take it to heart. Reason because I will not be preparing the reunion dinner anyway. However, the reunion dinner this year will be much earlier and we will be having our reunion dinner with my in laws at a restaurant on 20 Jan. My mum is calling us for reunion even earlier on 15 Jan. So we end up not having "Reunion" dinner on the eve of CNY. It is so weird to me as traditionally we always have a feast on the eve. So that make me start looking into peng cai - a one pot treasure. I am not intended to buy lot of food to store for CNY or going to cook many great dishes on the eve as I dun think I can manage too. The peng cai is a great idea althot Law has sounded to me that he may not like such style of eating. Well, I just want to keep it simple yet luxury for the ocassion and my in law. It was raining so heavily after the swimming lesson that Faith n I were stuck in school canteen for an hour. When she left the school she whatapps me to check out the rainbow just outside the school. I brot the kids running out to catch the rainbow cos I dun really have rainbow luck. Yes, the rainbow was so lovely n Janelle can even name out the 7 colors components in the rainbow. Oh the facts is I can never remember the colors. Haha I wind down the window to take picture of it. The rainbow spread a big range, it was lovely after a wet weather.

Lucky to be draw that is what I mean but never ask lucky ask Ngee Hwee to win something almost every year. I got a 89th prize. A $10 cold storage voucher just nice to get 2 packs of chestnut apples for the children.

I didnt have new hairstyle this year, infact I wanted to cut short my hair again but my beautician said I looked nicer this way so I decided to save the $$ on other things instead. Law needs to work for this coming new year but at least he is free on Sat and Sunday to accoy me and the kids to visit my sec teachers. Looking very forward for the visitation cos get to see all the buddies and their children again. Hope Mrs Tay will be satisfy with my weight lose. On the other hand, my precious daughter put on weight. hahahaha.. Today we will be having our reunion dinner with Parent in law at Heng Kee restaurant. Which is a good idea as we will be hands free from cooking and cleaning but comes eve will be a lonely night. I was thinking to prepare a pot of peng cai to try out, not sure will PIL used to eat this way. Something simple and not too hassle. This year, I only made pineapple tart for friends and families. Did alot of deep frying like arrowhead and crackers. Since I am still on diet...

I guess it is not to hard to know I was put out on all actions at this moment of time. Giving me the reason regarding my programme is indeed not very good excuse. May be it is time for me to wear my goggle and find out where I hit. The shallow of the ocean, probably only the beach who knows. "Move on". I told myself. I still have a big ocen to explore. Thanks god that I still have an Ocean out there, never dry up always warmth waiting for me anytime.

I think it is a good decision after all, and is a major one for us as it left us without anymore backup once again. We are thinking if we should wipe out or left some but professional advise us to left some for emergency. After the recalculation and by staying put to what we are contributing, we are soon be able to declare that one less liability next year. It is going to be a year for celebration and we are looking forward to it. If we continue on what we are contributing, at least our account would be empty when we are old giving that we are still working.

Cant remember what bring up the topic about animals and zoo. So Julian asking if we can go to zoo, I told him I will try my luck to book my coy corporate pass to bring him. The next day, he asked me if I managed to get the zoo pass. Again, I told him I will try but not to pin high hope as there are only 12 zoo pass and 3000 staffs fighting for it. However, I told him if I couldnt get the zoo, I will try for te Bird Park. In order not to disappoint him and to keep my promise to try, I went into my office Resource Web system to check. Bingo! I was lucky cos I saw one last pass not taken on the date I wanted. Count myself super lucky on that and booked it immediately and sent Law an email to tell him we will keep Sat off free to visit the zoo. Then I realised, the kids have swimming, since my pass allow me to visit the zoo for 3 days, may be we will split the visit in two days. Sat Morning and Sunday Noon.... this time, we will get the kids ready for water play. Pray for good weather...

I was having a RC meeting last night while Law brot the kids home, wondering if the kids will come home and do their homework. When I entered the house, I saw Julian welcome me home and telling me he was doing his homework. He said he is doing it fast and I could see him beaming proud of his achievement for the night. I went through his work, yes he did it well and fast. Although I preferred him to do his work in the studyroom but Law was using the computer so I guessed he should just stayed in the living on his little table to complete his work. He managed to complete 80% of the work last night, leaving one more assignment for tmr which required the computer to complete. I agreed that he will do the last assignment with me tmr night. I am happy with such routine and hope to see improvement in the coming month.

It is rare to crack an egg with two yolks but here I manage to cracks 6 with double yolks. Incredible eggs. Haha This is the egg that is giving me 2 yolks on many ocassion.

We sent our old Philip pixel plus away and stay survive with a 28" Samsung LED TV for 2 week before Law decided which TV to get. There are two brands and model in mind. LG 3D or Panasonic Plasma. Law decided to get the Panasonic Plasma instead, reason that I watched TV programmes more than watching HD movies cos I cannot tolerate lousy output quality from the real feed from source. The TV look big when installed in our living room but we are soon used to the size. Despite Plasma, we got the energy saving model which consume almost the same as LED TV.

After tasted the 池菇 home made by his Msia girlfriend. I decided to make some for the coming CNY too. Little did I know that the Happycall group is very happening with this snack too. I was lucky to find big and juicy 池菇 in the market today. The vegetable stall uncle is selling at $3 per KG, and decided to get 2kg to try out. Funny part is I keep chosing and couldnt hit 2kg on the scale. This is how much 2kg of 池菇 is. My sister was making it a few days ago and she didnt manage to success in it. She was surprised that I was planning to make some too. She commented that my batch of 池菇 was really big, however I couldnt make it the night as I didnt have the slicer. Have to go round looking for a slicer. Sister suggested I could start looking one at Daiso which is grabbing up fast by all the Happycall craze to make 池菇. While I was busy at home cleaning up after Janelle Birthday party, my dearest sister helped me to do some cleaning on the 池菇 end. Now my 池菇 was pretty much cleaner as...

Pineapple tartlets time again. This was my 1st batch of tarts, with the help of my dearest mum and sister. While I get ready the dough and they helped to mould and got it ready to be in the oven. I got mum a box home and a small box for my sister. We sample the remaining and left 5 tarts for Janelle as her snacks for tmr recess time. Law suddenly asked for the pineapple that I just made. I told him all gone, and his disappointment appeared. Not to worry, I will made again. However, I wldnt be getting more helping hand next time.

I din bring my bulky D7 during trip, as I wanted to travel light. Thinking to grab back as much as possible. We started leaving spore at 4pm as we need to wait for Janelle to finish her school and the earliest is 4:20 ferry to Batam. The staffs at Harris hotel were very friendly. We checked in fast n the kids love the cookies at the reception counter. Our rooms were spacious n they gave us connecting room but we run a little problem with the kids room as the aircon is not cold at all. Although the hotel had sent inen to repair but the coldness wasn't there but we still appreciate their prompt responses. We had our dinner at pizza hut n like the experience I had last round. The staffs at pizza hut still couldnt converse well in English. We had a tour around the shopping mall n the supermarket, grabbing water as usual. When night came, janelle suddenly running a fever. Fortunately, we got some adult panadol n get her to pop in one n luckily the fever subsided the next day. Could due ...
